Position Overview:The Drafter, Mechanical provides drafting support to Engineers or Sales Representatives on all product lines. This position prepares technical drawings of machined parts, weldments, and assemblies.
Location: CMCO – Dorner, Garvey, Magnetek
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Detail designs created by engineers or sales which includes determining tolerances, fits, dimensions, schemes, etc.
- Create and/or modify detailed drawings using 3D software (mechanical) or 2D software (mechanical or electrical)
- Input part data in business system
- Create bill of materials for assemblies in business system
- Provide assistance to manufacturing regarding questions on part drawings or assembly drawings
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:
- Demonstrates aptitude with problem solving and decision making.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new situations, take on new challenges, and adjust accordingly.
- Displays product knowledge obtained through experiential hands-on training.
- Attention to detail. Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all areas involved.
- Experience with SolidWorks, CAD and Enterprise Resource planning systems
Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or one plus years design or manufacturing experience in a related field.
