Responsibilities include the following:
- Use CAD software to perform applicable drafting work. Using feedback and suggestions from the Design Coordinator and Special Products Manager make any necessary modifications and improvements to all standard drawings in order to improve manufacturing productivity and quality. Work with the Design Coordinator to perform basic design functions on standard parts.
- Design components and assemblies using iLogic programming for future design simplification processes.
- Familiar with Product Lifecycle Methodologies (PLM) and able to work with Autodesk Vault Professional at a user level.
- Attend engineering design review and production meetings as required or necessary to ensure that parts are manufacturable before releasing them to production. In the absence of the Design Coordinator, may be asked to partner with the Special Products Manager to schedule and run design review meetings.
- Maintain open communications and work hand-in hand with the Design Coordinator and Special Products Manager to make recommendations for improving the design and drafting process and standard operating procedures.
- Work hand-in-hand with customer service representatives and various production personnel to respond to internal and external customer issues and product returns.
- As a secondary responsibility, must be willing to answer customer phone calls relating specifically to Brush Holders and Mechanicals. Investigate and respond to customer concerns, issues, and questions and expedite orders as needed to ensure timely delivery of the product to customers.
- Must maintain accurate customer records and all drawing documentation in an organized and efficient manner.
- Comply with ISO procedures on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Design preferred
- Minimum two years of Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D drafting.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
