Position Overview
The Division of University Advancement at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Donor Relations Coordinator to join our team. This position will assist the Donor Relations team with the development and implementation of a comprehensive stewardship and Donor Relations program that focuses on retention and contributes to the enhancement of our major gift pipeline.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and two years of professional experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, public relations, corporate account sales, or communications; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of the development field.
Knowledge of accepted business practices and procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain cordial, productive, and professional working relationships with internal and external contacts.
Ability to manage time, personnel, financial, and physical resources effectively.
Exceptional communications skills.
Ability to master University policies and procedures and apply these in specific situations.
Some knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles or ability to quickly assimilate.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to self-direct and prioritize among competing goals and to initiate process improvements.
  • Exemplary computer skills including CRM use and mastery of MS Office suite, as well as technology such as DocuSign, Smartsheet, and Teams.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge/NXT or other CRM, project management software and video stewardship platforms or ability to adapt to unfamiliar technology easily.
  • Prior non-profit or higher education fundraising experience that is transferrable to Donor Relations.
  • Strong work ethic coupled with an enthusiastic and passionate approach to one's work.
Required License / Registration / Certification Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; Typical 40-hour work week with possible flex-time schedule and hybrid-remote work opportunities.

Job Duties

o
Collaborate with annual giving, advancement communications, Donor Relations, and special events colleagues for the creation and execution of various donor stewardship functions including direct mail, email, text, and video projects.
o
Manage and monitor annual giving stewardship activities, including first time donor stewardship, loyal donor stewardship, and Diamond Eagles stewardship.
o
Provide project management support for the Donor Relations team and its projects using Smartsheets, including monthly productivity reports.
o
Collaborate with team to develop stewardship standards for the university to be used by all colleges, schools, and units (CSU's). Serve as a consultant to these areas as they develop their own respective stewardship programs.
o
Write and/or copy edit acknowledgment letters, gift documentation, and other materials as needed.
o
Actively respond to University partner and donor inquiries, calls, and emails while keeping the Director of Donor Relations apprised of any issues. Manage the Donor Relations inbox.
o
Manage all correspondence and tasks related to Fallen Eagles including weekly correspondence, individual Fallen Eagle alerts, and coordinating cards, floral, and/or plants for services.
o
Collaborate with the Director of Donor Relations, AVP for Donor Engagement and Advancement Services and the Vice President's office to maintain appropriate donor gifts in inventory, create holiday packages, etc.
