Purpose
This position reports to the senior associate Director ofDonor and Alumni Relations and stewardship at Dell Medical School. This position will coordinate stewardship and donor recognition, take a leading role in developing and overseeing a student and Alumni giving program, and help convey the meaning and impact of philanthropy to Dell Medical School alumni and donors. While working to ensure donor engagement, retention, and cultivation, this position broadly supports the school's dynamic mission: to revolutionize how people get and stay healthy.
Responsibilities
  • Generate impactful, bespoke stewardship experience for current and prospective donors in partnership with events team, gift officers, and senior staff.
  • Partner with senior associate Director ofDonor and Alumni Relations and stewardship and senior leaders to generate individualized stewardship and engagement plans for major and principal gifts.
  • Provide support for Alumni Relations program in partnership with annual giving, events team, and student affairs.
  • Oversee gift acknowledgment operation, including writing thank you letters and templates, coordinating video thank yous, and developing holiday and birthday touch points for donors.
  • Write and manage impact reports, annual endowment letters, and various touch points.
  • Coordinate with institutional partners for scholarship processes.
  • Liaise with Office of Student Affairs and Dell Med Students to foster a culture of philanthropy, including student giving campaigns.
  • Manage inventory of school assets to be named and oversee new naming's and donor recognition signage.
  • Assist with development of campaign materials in support of the University of Texas Medical Center cultivation projects.
  • Assist with production of stewardship gifts.
  • Assist with endowment compliance and communications with departments on gift criteria.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in fundraising, communications, nonprofit operations and/or Alumni Relations. Program development experience and writing experience in a professional setting, including letter writing, reports, grants or similar. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Passion for storytelling and conveying impact. Strong attention to detail. Problem solver. Outstanding organizational skills and experience using reporting tools and donor management software. Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience in project management. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively, effectively balance and communicate competing priorities. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Passion for health care. Five years of experience in fundraising, communications, nonprofit operations and/or Alumni Relations. Three years of experience writing for a health enterprise or university. Strong understanding of the cultivation process. One to two years of experience managing staff, volunteers, student workers or clerk-level associates. Experience with fundraising databases and knowledge of prospecting tools and reports within prospective donor relations systems, e.g., Raiser's Edge, Sales Force, etc. Proven self-starter capable of making sound, ethical, independent judgments. Integrity, professionalism, and collegiality are highest personal values; Success in working on a team, collaboratively and interdisciplinary; Personal and professional confidence, accompanied by a sense of humor and empathy toward others.
Salary Range
$60,000 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
