Job Title:Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Program Manager

Job Classification: Exempt, 1.0 FTE, 35 hours/week

Position Reports To: Program Director

Compensation: Starting at $81,328 - $89,889, DOE. Benefits eligible (See Compensation)

Location: Seattle, WA, hybrid

API Chaya is seeking a
Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Program Manager who will work collaboratively with the organization’s staff, community volunteers and leaders, as well as other gender justice, civil rights, and community-based organizations to achieve our vision and mission. The Program Manager will meld practical experience in survivor services with a nuanced understanding of how our work fits into larger movements for liberation and social justice. The individual will be resourceful, highly organized, a team builder, a critical and analytical thinker, self-reflective and self-aware, and open to growth and learning. The Program Manager will be committed to working with people from diverse cultural, linguistic, economic, educational, and vocational backgrounds.


The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of providers engaging with domestic violence and sexual assault services. They will provide support, supervision, and training as needed to ensure staff are equipped to deliver high quality, culturally relevant, and professional services to survivors. In collaboration with other staff, they will be responsible for setting and monitoring program goals, as well as identifying and advocating for resources needed to realize such goals. They will work in collaboration with other Program Managers to support the overall administration of the agency’s multi-disciplinary Direct Services Team. The Program Manager will also provide administrative oversight of programs including budget, grant-reporting, data collection and management.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Program Oversight (~30-40%)

  • Work with Program Director and Management Team to oversee the development and implementation of API Chaya's programs in alignment with our mission and values
  • Work with Program Director and program staff to establish program goals and priorities on an annual basis
  • Review and/or design and implement regular program evaluation for DV/SA services
  • Regularly review (and develop when needed) documentation procedures and other program policies informed by API Chaya's values and movement-wide best practices
  • Manage internship program for MSW students and legal interns
  • Oversee data reporting such as timesheet, expenditure, client enrollment for internal and external purposes and ensure program staff provide accurate and timely reporting of data
  • Work with staff and Program Director to develop and monitor budgets within programs

Staff Supervision and Development (~30-40%)

  • Develop annual work plans with staff that reflect organizational and program priorities
  • Work with Program Director in recruitment and selection of program staff and interns
  • Train new staff members as needed and provide on-going training opportunities for all program staff
  • Conduct regular one-on-one supervision of staff members to give feedback, support professional growth, and ensure staff work is in alignment with organizational values and in adherence to organizational policies and goals
  • Conduct annual evaluations of staff performance
  • Conduct regular group coordination and supervision meetings with API Chaya's Survivor Services and Community Engagement programs
  • Be available after hours and weekends by phone to consult with staff members when emergent situations arise

Relationship Building & Movement Engagement (~15%)

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners in key organizations and various communities
  • Attend select local, regional and occasionally statewide and national meetings and conferences to ensure API Chaya's perspective and our constituents' needs are represented
  • Attend select local, county and occasionally statewide community planning meetings with public funders to promote API Chaya and its services and report on progress and unmet needs
  • Conduct trainings, provision of technical assistance, and speaking engagements

Other (~15%)

  • Assist Co-Director of Fund Development & Finance with grants proposals
  • Work with management team to support successful implementation of fundraising plan
  • Attend ongoing trainings to further professional development and stay up-to-date on emergent trends and relevant developments in field
  • Liaison with local, state and national organizations and systems when necessary to advocate for trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically responsive services on behalf of survivors and coach staff members on doing the same
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4 years of full-time experience in domestic violence and/or sexual assault and/or human trafficking direct service provision
  • Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in program management and/or supervision, preferably doing DV, SA, HT, or related work
  • Experience in or deep connections with immigrant and refugee communities and an understanding of the dynamics of domestic and sexual abuse/violence and/or human trafficking within these communities
  • Understanding and support of API Chaya's mission, vision and values and commitment to incorporate such values in day-to-day work
  • Commitment to anti-oppression, including anti-racism and recognizing the intersections of gender-based and state-based violence
  • Superb writing, speaking and communication skills, Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent team building, boundary setting and conflict management skills
  • Nuanced critical thinking skills and understanding of how API Chaya's work relates to other movements for liberation and social justice and the ability to help others integrate such understanding into their work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in policy advocacy and/or grassroots organizing campaigns
  • Experience with advocacy-based counseling and/or other empowerment-based models
  • Familiarity with local API, immigrant and/or refugee communities
  • Familiarity with local, regional and state laws, organizations, coalitions, policies and practices regarding domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking
  • Capacity to work remotely and engage deeply over Zoom
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or a South Asian, Asian, Pacific Islander language

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, or relevant accommodation exemption.
  • Work authorization in the US.
  • Washington State resident.
  • Access to personal vehicle. Valid Washington state driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. We provide mileage reimbursement.
  • Ability to communicate detailed or important information to clients and/or co-workers through written documents and emails and through verbal means over the telephone, using virtual meeting platforms, and in person.
  • Access to a personal laptop and reliable Internet connection. Proficiency in using MS Outlook, Excel, and Word. Adaptive accommodations may be available as needed.
  • This position requires responding in a high-demand environment with people in varying degrees of distress.
  • Willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends.

COMPENSATION


Salary will start between $81,328 - $89,889 depending on experience. API Chaya uses a standardized points scale for equity in compensation.
