The Office of Registration and Operations, Division of Operations has an opening for a Document Processing Specialist I. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in the Document Preparation Section.
As a Document Processing Specialist I for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, you will assist in the processing of tax data, payments for scanning and data capture.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The Office of Registration and Operations, Division of Operations has an opening for a Document Processing Specialist I. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in the Document Preparation Section.
As a Document Processing Specialist I for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, you will assist in the processing of tax data, payments for scanning and data capture.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Researching databases for account numbers to help process returns and payments in Withholding, Sales and Use, and Individual Income Tax.
- Preparing Withholding, Sales and Use, Individual Income, and Unemployment Insurance returns. In addition, prepares payments for processing to the scanners in a timely manner.
- Hand validating Sales tax adjustments on other tax forms and payments that cannot be processed by the scanner.
- Preparing Sales and Use, Unemployment, and other rewritten forms for the scanner.
- Working with other areas in the Division when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation including an FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check).
- Must comply with all tax laws.
- Mostly at a desk using a computer and telephone.
- Some travel for training and education.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of clerical, administrative, or accounting experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in a Document Processing center.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
