District Accountant

The District Accountant is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely fund-level financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement (after completion of training), Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. PFM's Orlando East location is on Quadrangle Boulevard near UCF.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly financial statements and budget to actual report
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Payables
• Receivables
• Ensure accurate and timely year-end close processes
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Continuous management and support of budget activities
• Prepare for annual financial audit and correspond with auditor
• Correspond with property owners regarding non-ad valorem assessments
• Any other tasks required to carry out the accounting function

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Three to five years of government accounting experience
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles
• Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
• Knowledge and experience of accounting computer applications
