The Department of Health and Behavioral Sciences seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment in Psychology beginning in Fall 2024. Area of specialization is open, but an ability to teach introductory General Psychology courses is required. The successful candidate will teach General Psychology as part of the Dual Credit / Early College High School program. At least one semester a year, all classes will be taught at local High School campuses. The base teaching load at A&M-SA is 5/5; however, the successful applicant will be teaching 4/4 during semesters fully taught at the High School, with professional development expectations related to teaching Early College High School students. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed.
Required Education and Experience:
M.A. or M.S. required in Psychology or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Psychology.
University teaching experience commensurate with the rank of Lecturer.
Availability to teach in-person classes at San Antonio-area High School campuses.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Ph.D. preferred in psychology or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution by the time of appointment.
Experience teaching at a High School.
Prior experience teaching dual credit courses.
