Chronicle Books is excited to announce an opening for a Distribution Client Sales Assistant in our Sales & Distribution department. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and can manage multiple tasks at once while providing top-notch service to our team and our clients.
As a Sales Assistant on our Distribution Client Sales team, you will provide efficient day-to-day administrative and project support to the Client Account Managers and our client publishers. You will support and work closely with our Sales Directors and Sales Managers, and you will also work cross-departmentally with Operations, Marketing, Export, and other departments. You will create agendas for client calls, process images, help prepare seasonal launches, and review raw metadata from clients for potential errors. In addition, the job will involve requesting and coordinating advances and sales materials, managing samples for trade, editing and distributing sales trip reports, and monitoring client title status to ensure optimal representation.
Employees at Chronicle Books follow a flexible hybrid schedule of working a minimum of 3 days per week and up to 4 days per week in our San Francisco office, depending on project and business needs. Hiring Salary Range: $22.84 - $24.04 per hour. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to: the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for our profit share plan.

Requirements:Applicants will need a minimum of 1-2 years of prior work history, clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to prioritize time effectively to meet deadlines. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills are strongly preferred, and prior experience with Salesforce.com, AirTable, MS Teams, Sharepoint, and Google Drive is a plus. You should have a desire to work in a high-performing, collaborative team environment as well as be strongly self-motivated, and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively. Customer service and/or some retail experience is preferred.
