We are currently seeking a proactive, detail-oriented and efficient Distribution Accounting Associate. This role will be responsible for managing and processing invoices and expense reports across multiple departments, and requires a high level of accuracy and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be an operations-focused individual with great problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to build great working relationships. This position is based in the NYC area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage Purchase Orders for distribution team expenses, ensuring accurate classification of each expense.
- Process departmental invoices in a timely manner, tracking that all payments are made according to company policies and deadlines.
- Manage and reconcile expense reports for departmental credit cards, verifying all transactions are legitimate and properly documented.
- Coordinate with the relevant departments and vendors to resolve any discrepancies in billing or payments.
- Build effective and sustainable relationships with internal teams.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all invoices and expense reports.
- Design and execute process for tracking expenses incurred by key teams by compiling information received from various sources, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to improve efficiency in processing and tracking financial transactions.
- Create documentation of key processes and systems.
- Perform other related duties as reasonably assigned.
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping or operations role, preferably with a focus on invoices, POs and expense report management.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Our target pay range for this role is between $24 and $30 per hour. Actual starting pay within the range will depend on various considerations, including: work experience, skills, specializations, and training. We do not use formal job titles internally and similarly named positions may have different compensation levels.
