Job Overview:
The Dispensary Manager (DM) is responsible for ensuring each patient has an outstanding experience during their visit to SunnyTien. The DM will create a safe and welcoming environment for customers and employees alike. This position oversees all aspects of the dispensary including day to day operations, training, scheduling, payroll, inventory management, P&L management, expense control, as well as ensuring compliance with all New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission rules and regulations.
The Dispensary Manager reports directly to the CEO but will work within a collaborative environment with the management team and its advisors. SunnyTien will entrust it’s DM to build a company culture that enables employees to grow and thrive, customers to rely on a consistent and quality experience, and the community to recognize the value that our retail operation brings to the surrounding area.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Dispensary Manager is responsible for ensuring the customer-facing operations within the dispensary are welcoming, efficient, and consistent. In addition, the DM will oversee the inventory department to maintain product offerings that best meet the needs of our customers. This will be accomplished through the following:
- Create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all customers to receive a high-quality experience at every visit, no matter their cannabis history.
- Regularly provide training, coaching, and development for all staff members to create and strengthen the retail team on dispensary operations and inventory management.
- Communicate with CEO/management team to implement improvements throughout all operations and dispensary environments. Our DM will play an active role in the development of our business.
- In partnership with management, develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth, achieve sales targets, and expand services and offerings.
- Track, address, and deliver necessary disciplinary actions and counseling from unauthorized, inappropriate, and/or incorrect behaviors to ensure the team is receiving the necessary tools to improve, grow, and thrive.
- Create employee work schedules to properly staff dispensary operations, including both front of house and inventory teams.
- Oversee the completion and submission of all necessary reports including end of day, inventory audits, reconciliations, and others required by management and governing bodies.
- Engage with customers when necessary to support the team and maintain quality dispensary experiences, including but not limited to:
- Answering phones or greeting customers upon arrival
- Transacting customers on register terminals
- Assisting customers with making educated decisions on product options that may best meet their needs or interests
- Resolving disputes, issues, and concerns with products and/or employees
- Retrieve inventory from the vault and restock as necessary
- Oversee the Inventory Manager and department to ensure product varieties and levels, online and kiosk ordering, and procurement operations are executed as intended.
- Maintain all products, employees, customers, and transactions to meet the necessary level of compliance in accordance with the NJCRC rules and regulations.
- Assist in daily, monthly, and annual inventory counts and audits.
- Oversee all cash management and financial operations, including register counts, drops, and consolidations.
- Purchase and maintain all necessary office supplies, kitchen items, and other products that creates an efficient and hospitable environment for both employees and customers.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of retail or hospitality management of a team of 10 or more, with a focus on customer service
- Minimum 2 years of cannabis retail experience required
- Strong understanding of New Jersey cannabis laws and regulations, how they pertain to retail operations, purchasing, possessing, and consuming cannabis products, and the restrictions associated with each aspect.
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or relative field preferred, with a minimum of high school diploma or GED (general education degree)
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Ability to read and interpret written documents such as standard operating procedures, spreadsheets, employee handbook, manifests and invoices, and other company or industry related resources
- Ability to proficiently operate Point of Sale, Inventory Management, Product Menu platforms, and other necessary forms of technology
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, decimals, and fractions
- Ability to preserve confidential information, including but not limited to company, employee, customer, or partner information and data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with strict deadlines, schedules, and regulations
- Attention to detail regarding inventory, finances, procedures, and employee management
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or relative technology
- REQUIRED: Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
Work Requirements:
- Available to work weekdays and weekends in both day and night shifts as needed
- Ability to work extended days on occasional basis as requested by management
- Ability to work Federal and State holidays when required
- Ability to stand on feet for at least 8 hours and to lift and carry 50lbs
- Minimum age of 21 Years
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
