The most essential skill of a General Manager is to create a 2nd–to-none dispensary customer experience and to train and retain staff members to achieve this goal. This role will oversee the hiring and firing, training, and development of all dispensary employees. General Managers are responsible for daily operations, company culture, and the profitability of Mind Lift Dispensary. This role is also responsible for establishing and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales projections and marketing efforts that are consistent with brand standards, including managing a budget and reducing costs.
This is a ground-floor growth position with a new company. As a small microbusiness dispensary, we need a highly motivated individual to help us get off the ground and establish as the premier adult-use cannabis dispensary in Plainfield and build a team of go-getters who are hungry to succeed and grow with our company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four-year university or college and 3-5 years of experience as a General Manager in a high-volume retail setting with a preference for licensed cannabis industry dispensary backgrounds.
- Analytical mindset, able to solve problems creatively while following a budget, and quantifying results.
- Leadership and decision-making ability.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish required to communicate with local Plainfield clientele effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must pass all required background and fingerprinting checks prior to employment.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of daily dispensary operations.
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations governing the sale of cannabis products. This includes but is not limited to:
- Checking that products are correctly packaged and labeled.
- Ensuring that COA’s are available for all products in store and readily available to customers.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and productivity and maintain clear recordkeeping.
- Ensure that waste disposal, sanitation, security, and all other state guidelines are always followed.
- Ensuring that all customers are 21 or older and that employees are actively enforcing purchase limits.
·Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team of budtenders, receptionists, and other support staff.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professionalism, and employee development.
- Establish schedules for employees for adequate coverage of high-volume sales periods and manage staffing to reduce costs during slower periods.
·Customer Service:
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- · Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control and management to optimize stock levels and prevent shortages.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely product deliveries.
·Sales and Marketing:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals.
- Help establish and oversee marketing and promotional activities drive customer engagement, and drive sales revenue.
- Ensure that protocols for opening/closing, drawer counts, and sales transactions are followed and records are maintained.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
