As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating and organizing the movement of our drivers and vehicles to fulfill pickup and delivery requests from our clients. You will act as the liaison between our drivers, customers, and management, ensuring the timely and efficient completion of all transportation tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
– Receive and process customer requests for pickups and deliveries
– Assign drivers and vehicles to fulfill the requests and maintain an accurate record of assignments
– Communicate with drivers via two-way radio, phone, or messaging systems to provide necessary information and instructions
– Monitor and track the progress of drivers and shipments to ensure timely and safe delivery
– Maintain a current and accurate database of clients, drivers, and vehicles
– Respond to and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during transportation
– Generate and distribute daily schedules and reports to management
– Collaborate with other departments to optimize transportation operations and ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Proven work experience as a Dispatcher or similar role in the transportation industry
– Excellent communication and organizational skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
– Proficient in using dispatch software and GPS systems
– Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
– Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
– Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
– Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
