Job Responsibilities

• Direct company/contract carrier’s trucks per agreed-upon scheduled times to customers
• Utilize electronic dispatching software to assist with dispatch and monitor the fleet
• Assigning a driver’s day so that they fully utilize their allotted 11 hours of drive time/14 on-duty time
• Supervise drivers & manage discipline issues, performance evaluations, & weekly truck inspections
• Manage the loading of both trucks and common carriers ensuring 100% order accuracy
• Receives and directs unloading of all inbound freight and raw materials
• Manager all in/out-bound documentation
• Monitor driver logs and reports including trip reports, DVCR’s & shipping tickets
• Ensure maximum equipment maintenance and maintains records on all units
• Assist office personnel with maintaining shipping tickets and bill of ladings
• Assist in screening prospective drivers for employment
• Lead monthly driver safety meetings

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced multi-vehicle tractor/trailer dispatching environment
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and mechanical aptitude is a must
• Other skills include excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong computer skills
• You will be asked to collect information from various sources including deliveries, drivers, and vehicle performance to report in an organized manner
• This position will require overtime and some weekend work during the peak season
• Big Box and construction site delivery experience is a strong plus along with forklift experience

This is an industrial environment, requires attention to SAFETY, physical dexterity, and intermittently required to use hands, arms, legs, feet and body.
