On Time Logistics located in Newark, NJ is looking for a Container Drayage/ Intermodal Dispatcher.
The candidate must have good logistics knowledge, excellent communication skills, a positive team player attitude and the ability to multitask.
We are looking for a dedicated team member that is looking to advance within the company as we continue to grow.
Daily duties would include but not be limited to:

• Dispatch company drivers and owner operators, monitor shipments at the terminals, communicate with customers, keep track of company equipment, keep company losses at a minimum, ie. demurrage, per diem
• Reliable, excellent time management skills, pro-active, self motivated, team player, works well under pressure, can multitask, ability to work without supervision
• Checks and responds to incoming email and replies as appropriate
• Maintaining TMS system up to date at all times.
• Distributing all assignments and deliveries to drivers.
• Communicates driver issues to supervisors and management and assists with resolution
• Provide all necessary paperwork to the drivers for each pickup and delivery.
• Updates accessorial charges as needed to ensure correct invoicing
• Works with other departments as necessary to ensure smooth, safe, efficient operations

The ideal candidate will have:

• Knowledge of drayage, trucking, brokerage, freight forwarder, 3PL experience
• Working knowledge of the Newark Port and steamship lines
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to brokering, shipping and receiving freight
• Knowledge of dispatching/load-planning, in order to project arrival times
• Able to work independently and in a team oriented environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Analytical and detail oriented mindset
• The ability to work and communicate with multiple departments and a variety of personnel both internal and external
• Ability to learn and use multiple software systems
• 1 2 years dispatching experience
• The ability to be flexible based on changing business levels
• Bilingual is English and Spanish Required
