Job description

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM I) of the Disability Management Unit (DMU), the Office Technician (OT) is responsible for performing a variety of journey level office functions requiring a high degree of initiative and independence. The OT supports the DMU in purchasing, invoice tracking, clerical support, file management, and other administrative duties relating to the application of all employee leave programs, Reasonable Accommodation (RA), and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The OT must maintain the confidentiality of the employees participating in the leave programs, RA and EAP.
The attached duty statement indicates whether this position is eligible for telework. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200, and may be required to report to a CDPH office, when needed. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.

The Human Resources Division (HRD) partners with the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH's) programs and management to provide guidance and consultative services on Human Resources matters that are necessary for the Department to carry out its mission to deliver quality public health services. CDPH is looking for a motivated, creative individual to join our team in the Disability Management Unit (DMU) within the Human Resources Division. Special Requirements
  • The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section).
