Job Title: Director, Strategy & Planning, Retirement Services

Summary:
The Director, Strategy and Planning will lead the Retirement Services department in its transformation initiatives to become a premier servicer of Taft-Hartley retirement plans. Through collaboration with teams across our organization, the Director will leverage our integrated, member-centric technology to identify and frame data-driven solutions to support the department’s digital transformation strategy. They will identify and drive technology-based operational efficiencies that support our customer service goals and improve employee productivity and engagement while ensuring pension processing protocols and regulatory compliance.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate Retirement Services’ administration practices in partnership with the department’s functional leaders.
- Lead strategic projects and initiatives, creating work plans and deliverables with the goal of optimizing production functions; propose innovative technological solutions and lead cross-functional teams to execution of optimization plans.
- Develop change management plans for each project or change initiative that acknowledges the different aspects of the change process – analysis, strategy, implementation, training and launch.
- Collaborate with product management teams to build short- and long-term roadmap that aligns with overall Fund office strategies.
- Define and communicate courses of action and obtain buy-in from executive leadership; define clear plans and measures to drive these initiatives.
- Ability to work successfully and collaboratively with internal and external constituencies, including members of the Executive Office, senior staff, trustees, lawyers, the Union, consultants, and others.
- Provide efficient and effective implementation guidance for Retirement Services team by ensuring appropriate requirements gathering through sound assessment of the environments and expectations.
- Deliver Proof of Concept, Prototypes and targeted presentations that fulfill Retirement Services’ expectations.
- Oversee implementation projects in accordance with professional project management standards.
- Steer productive workshops through a consultative process and provide high-quality support to the team.
- Oversee the development of test plans for all technical solutions including custom development work.
Requirements:
- Experience in change management and strategy formulation in a complex and fast-paced working environment.
- Project management in a customer/member services environment.
- Solid business acumen in benefits administration and demonstrated track record of identifying and successfully delivering on organic and inorganic change opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal skills required to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to apply technological tools to solve administrative problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting or in related field
- 10+ years of relevant management experience in benefits administration or Retirement Services related environment.
- Proven analytical capabilities (very detail oriented) in a high change environment.
- Ability to set competing priorities appropriately.
- Ability to plan and lead large-scale meetings with diverse audiences (executives, IT leaders, users, etc.).
- Team orientation and a collaborative style of management.
- MS Dynamics experience helpful.
- QlikView experience helpful.
