The Director of Solutions Marketing will support extending our leadership position through the positioning and promotion of our solutions and offerings. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans for our energy solutions in greener capacity, smart grid, carbon-free electricity, digital solutions and e-everything that resonate with our current and prospective customers, drive adoption, and support our commercial teams and growth objectives.
The successful candidate enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment, and is comfortable leading global cross functional teams with a results- and continuous improvement-driven approach.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction for solution marketing at AES
- Build, lead and develop an impactful team focused on results and continuous improvement
- Manage marketing activities to support AES’ solutions architecture and continue to evolve the structure as new solutions are added to the portfolio by the Commercial and Innovation teams
- Oversee market research and competitive analysis to understand market trends, customer needs and the competitive landscape
- Gain understanding of customers’ needs and use of AES’ current and prospective solutions
- Responsible for creation of Solutions Marketing standards, governance, go-to-market strategy, and process across the organization
- Develop the go-to-market strategy for solutions including positioning, value proposition, benchmarking, segmentation and promotional channels
- Lead the solutions content strategy process to produce commercial materials, web content and other marketing materials to communicate the value proposition of our solutions
- Work closely with Innovation, Solutions and Commercial teams to provide the tools and resources needed to launch and market solutions effectively, including training, presentations and other support materials
- Oversee marketing campaigns to drive awareness and growth across the solutions portfolio
- Contribute to innovation process and solutions development through for offerings at various lifecycle phases, including gathering customer feedback and market trends
- Collaborate with other Marketing functions, and Innovation, Solutions, Commercial and Communications teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of marketing strategies
- Define and track key performance indicators to track success of efforts
- Manage budget to optimize for performance
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field; MBA is a plus
- 15+ years of Solutions Marketing, product marketing or related experiences with roles of increasing responsibility in a global organization
- Energy industry experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strategic thinker with strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity in developing compelling solutions messaging and marketing materials
- Proficiency in marketing tools and analytics platforms
- Knowledge of industry trends and standard methodologies
- Leadership and team management experience
