Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Findlay, OH facility does not open until 2026, in the interim the new hire will be expected to travel to our Claysburg, PA and Burlington, NC facilities to receive training, assist with design, construction, and equipment selection.
Manage complete operations at the Findlay, OH facility, including DC, Bakery and Ready to Eat (RTE) food manufacturing, receiving, selecting, shipping, scheduling, maintenance, bakery science, transportation and delivery of all products within the SDS scope. Establish and implement best practices in the areas of food safety, quality, customer service, productivity, and maintaining a positive work environment creating a great place to work. Work in partnership with department leaders to assure alignment with company strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
1. Maximize the development of internal talent through regular performance coaching, performance reviews and presenting developmental opportunities.
2. Align area objectives with the strategic goals of the department
3. Administer all guidelines established within SDS
4. Responsible for creating and managing annual budgets for assigned area of responsibility to maximize profitability.
5. Responsible for management and supervision of labor and equipment associated with all operations; DC, Bakery and Ready to Eat (RTE) food manufacturing, Cooler/Freezer, Receiving, Selecting, Shipping, Scheduling, Transportation, and Maintenance.
6. Lead continuous improvement initiatives with clear and visual goals and accountabilities
7. Develop and implement plans to improve processes and the facility that drives cost reduction and improvements in food safety, productivity, and quality.
8. Ensure ongoing maintenance programs and contingency planning are in place to minimize business interruptions.
9. Oversee the hiring, training and scheduling of operations management team and staff.
10. Set clear priorities and align resources to deliver against business and regulatory requirements in the areas of cost control, customer service, quality, food safety, workplace safety and employee relations.
11. Ensure employee recognition and appreciation activities are administered along with the development of other activities to meet the needs of the facility
12. Administer all guidelines of good manufacturing practices, FDA/USDA standards, the Environmental Control Act, human resource activities, DOT, GMPs and OSHA standards to ensure that the plant is in compliance. Monitor in conjunction with responsible staff, health, safety and environmental process for the facility
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Management or related field required
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in supply chain management, distribution, or perishable food manufacturing required.
- Supervisory experience managing a large workforce required.
- Thorough understanding of government regulations and experience working with government agencies required.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing management software systems or warehouse management software systems required.
