The Barre Unified Union School District is seeking a district level Director of Technology. The director plays a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of the school district, driving innovation, and empowering educators and students with the tools and resources needed to succeed in the digital age. This position requires a strategic thinker who can both envision and execute plans to leverage technology effectively in support of educational goals, administrative functions, and overall operational efficiency.The Director's responsibilities include: -supervising a technology team of fifteen, recruiting, hiring, supporting, developing, and retaining effective and collaborative technology experts;-strategically managing technology staff and resources, assigning and scheduling staff to roles and responsibilities that optimize their professional capacity and result in effective, timely task and project completion;-seeking, acquiring, and managing technology resources to support curriculum, instruction, and assessment, the student learning community and professional capacity of all staff;-overseeing network and server administrative duties, collaborating with the administration and other staff to develop short and long term technology plans and budgets that ensure the continued successful use of Technology throughout the district; -being a responsible, ethical, and accountable steward of the schools monetary and nonmonetary resources, engaging in effective budgeting and accounting practices;-collaborating with the administration and other staff to plan, develop and maintain data and communication systems to deliver actionable information for classroom and school improvement;-completing (or assisting others in completing) state/federal mandated reports and surveys; and-supporting the development of technically appropriate systems of data collection, management, analysis, for planning, implementation, monitoring, feedback, and evaluation.For complete job description, click here.
