Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Surgical Services is a Perioperative Registered Nurse, experienced in the processes, management, and techniques specific to perioperative services and provides 24-hour accountability for patient care, resource and fiscal management of the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Outpatient Observation, Special Procedures and Sterile Processing Units.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Current California Registered Nursing (RN) License required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related health care field or current enrollment in program required.
- *Must meet all DMV requirements listed below.
Knowledge:
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience required.
- Minimum of five years Surgical Services nursing experience required.
- Proven knowledge of accreditation standards specific to Perioperative Services.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Experiences where leadership, integrity, initiative, clinical skills and effective communication skills have been demonstrated.
- Proven knowledge and ability to use management and supervisory principles and skills.
- Must have the physical and mental health adequate to meet the demands of the job.

Candidates must possess and supply proof of: a current CA Driver's License, a clean DMV printout and Auto Insurance coverage with a minimum of $50,000 per person/$100,000 per occurrence (or a combined single limit of $100,000) and property damage coverage in an amount not less than $50,000 per occurrence.
