Pay Range: $74,000 to $77,000/ year

Position Overview:
The Director ofOutreach & Family Support Services is responsible for implementing and growing two core programs: the Breaking Down Barriers (BDB) program and the Family Support Liaison Program (FSLP). The Director ensures program objectives are met or exceeded; leads a high functioning and growing department of over 20+ individuals; is strong in grant, contract, and fiscal management; and has solid relationship management skills. The ideal candidate has experience in managing and developing diverse teams, seeks opportunities to collaborate with community partners to grow program impact, and has experience in community outreach and family services. These programs connect with and serve diverse communities of San Diego, and the position requires cultural humility and the ability to engage with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Specifically, BDB reaches BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities in San Diego County, and the FSLP program reaches Black and African-American families in San Diego County and soon, this program will reach immigrants and refugees who have resettled in San Diego County. This position reports to the Senior Director of Family and Community Services and collaborates with other program Directors in the division and companywide.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall vision as informed by the contract and JFS values, leadership, and coordination of the Breaking Down Barriers program and the Family Support Liaison Program
- Plan, implement, administer, and manage program services in accordance with JFS' strategic plan and contractual (Federal/State/County) compliance
- Hire, supervise and retain qualified departmental staff with an emphasis on change management, team cohesion, and career growth. Department includes 20 staff, including 5 direct reports
- Develop and monitor program and department budgets, track expenditures, project budget variances, propose solutions to address variances, and prepare invoices in compliance with contracts
- Continuously evaluate program processes, impact, and client satisfaction based on program theory of change, JFS' strategic plan, and contractual outcome objectives
- Grow community and internal partnerships to expand program impact and leverage resources, to support programmatic success
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments including other program departments, People & Culture, Finance, Technology Services, and Facilities
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience/Abilities That Are a Must-Have:
- A minimum of 3 years work experience managing and administering programs in the non-profit/human/social services sector
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in human services/social work or equivalent preferred
- Fluency in English, bilingual (Spanish, Arabic, Tagalog, or Vietnamese) preferred, and core experience in working/engaging with communities from multiple nations/cultures/ethnic groups
- A genuine passion to positively impact the lives of children and families, that recognizes concepts, theories, and models such as Wraparound, motivational interviewing, resiliency frameworks, trauma-informed care, and client-centered approaches
- Must have experience working with cultural and community organizations, and can establish rapport with trusted community partners
- Experience in working with diverse racial and ethnic populations, able to engage with people from diverse backgrounds, comfortable in an environment where languages other than English are spoken
- Excellent communication and organizational skills combined with being a self-starter and solution oriented
- Experience keeping information confidential
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication skills, listening skills, and positive attitude

- Must have a valid CA driver's license, a clean driving record, insurance, a reliable personal vehicle, and a willingness to travel off-site
- Must pass pre-employment background check(s)
Skills/Abilities We'd Like You to Have:
- Master's degree in human services/social work or equivalent preferred, bachelor's degree required
- California-licensed mental health professional (or license eligible) preferred, with a minimum of two years of master's level direct clinical experience working in the mental health field with children. Examples: LPCC, or LCSW or LMFT
- Technologically savvy, highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Certification or prior experience with Wraparound preferred
- Experience with budgeting and accounting software preferred
