Job Description
The Director of Operations will provide operational expertise, strategic direction, and organizational leadership to MCA’s family of over 70 employees while championing the organization's Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Truth.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Ensure highly productive and efficient day-to-day functioning and management of all operational initiatives and priorities.
· Oversee, direct, and act as an advisor and mentor to the management team.
· Understand all aspects of the company and identify potential areas of improvement.
· Provide strategic leadership and direction by working with the management team to establish essential long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
· Actively participate in strategic recruitment initiatives.
· Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to foster exchange of ideas and learning opportunities as well as strengthen internal communications.
· Assess and analyze departmental business plans and budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits.
· Ensure company is meeting financial and revenue goals (responsible for profit and loss).
· Act as an advisor and provide guidance for various projects as necessary.
· Assist strategic planning meetings and report company metrics (P&L, budget, etc.) to President and Board of Directors.
· Promote company culture and core values among all staff.
· All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related technical field (surveying, engineering, etc.) or business administration and/or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Professional license strongly preferred.
- Minimum ten (10) years applicable experience, fifteen (15) years preferred.
- Strong business acumen.
- Understanding of and experience with the AEC industry preferred.
- Technical and financial understanding of business operations.
- Exceptional leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, action-oriented, flexible, creative, analytical, problem solver.
- Working knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations and requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and able to travel to clients and project sites as needed.
- Exceptional and interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong planning, organization, preparation, and execution capabilities.
· Strong problem-solving skills.
· Ability to resolve conflict and intradepartmental issues.
· Ability to evaluate and develop operating procedures.
