Job Summary:

The Director of Payroll Operations is responsible for supervising staff and managing all payroll processes to ensure they are executed in an accurate and timely manner. This position is the subject matter expert and is responsible for all aspects of meeting the College’s payroll obligations for approximately 1800 employees. The Director maintains all payroll records and oversees payroll processes and procedures, and is responsible for continual process improvement. Must demonstrate a commitment to diversity in a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, and adherence to the community college philosophy.


Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution or combination of higher education and significant related work experience.
Significant payroll work experience in an organization similar in size and complexity to Lansing Community College.
Significant supervisory experience.
Significant experience working with integrated financial systems and Microsoft Office products.


Preferred Qualifications:

Significant experience in a higher education, K-12, governmental or non-profit environment with multiple collective bargaining agreements.
Experience working with and reporting to ORS/MPSERS pension system.
Experience working with Ellucian Banner software
