Position Summary: The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of purchased components and assures continuous improvement of assigned supply base. The Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for monitoring and correcting quality issues of designated supplier(s).
What you can look forward to as a Supplier Quality Engineer:
- Perform external quality audits of suppliers, internal audits.
- Plan and supervise the implementation of Preventive Quality Assurance in order to establish capable and stable production/business processes for assigned supply base – APQP.
- Direct supplier’s quality efforts towards ISO/TS16949, QR 83 compliance.
- Evaluate quality documentation received on purchased parts.
- Monitor and improve quality performance of assigned supply base.
- Investigate and resolve issues associated with non-conforming parts utilizing 8D corrective action process along with other industry standard problem-solving tools.
- Determine component characteristics to be inspected and create receiving inspection plans (SAP-QM).
- Team with Purchasing to evaluate, audit, survey, strategize, and select suppliers.
Your profile as a Supplier Quality Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 3+ years experience in quality field
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and other data base tools.
- ISO/TS knowledge.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule multiple daily tasks.
- Knowledge/Experience in utilizing Process Flow Charts, FMEA’s, Control Plans.
- Knowledge/Experience in AIAG quality core tools.
