We are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Operations to join our team. This position is in our New York NY office and is on-site.
Position Summary:
The Director of Operations will manage the daily Operations and will be responsible to ensure Mulligan Security’s services are consistent with client expectations, and always remain in compliance with established Company-guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Manage Account Managers to ensure Day to Day Operations are meeting or exceeding expectations. The Director will be responsible for 16,000 to 24,000 HPW of work – equating to two to three Account Managers and/or Site Directors in their reporting structure.
- Oversee administrative functions of regional office assisting VP.
- Handle all client reports and operations software.
- Manage employee achievement awards.
- Liaison between Mulligan and client representatives.
- Must ensure a proactive approach to managing accounts. Ensure contract deliverables are successfully met.
- Develop, challenge, and motivate site level Leadership teams to achieve optimum results.
- Work with VP to manage overtime performance of the region by preparing and analyzing reports and operational reports, determining trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist AM’s/Site Directors with managing and training a team of security officers, evaluating the effectiveness of these individuals in carrying out required client and Mulligan Security objectives, including completion of all onsite training in a timely fashion.
- Ensure AM’s and Site Directors develop and maintain schedules for each client location and schedule staff to ensure all posts are filled and contract requirements are met.
- Respond and facilitate emergency procedures through police / fire departments.
- Facilitate weekly client meetings; attend after-hours client and tenant board meetings as needed.
- Coordinate and oversee all new job start-ups, ensure contract obligations are met in accordance with Mulligan Security guidelines.
- Work with Account Managers/Site Directors to facilitate payroll, including retrieval of time sheets, approval and certification of weekly hours, process, resolve and approve payroll discrepancies; approve time off requests.
- Develop and maintain post orders (job responsibilities) for each client location/post.
- Ensure Account Managers/Site Directors identify hiring needs and create job requisitions to facilitate the recruitment and hiring process with HR. Interview applicants and make final recommendations on hiring decisions.
- Manage security officer work force with respect to disciplinary actions by proactively identifying, addressing, and documenting disciplinary action up to and including final warnings in collaboration with HR.
- Make documented recommendations for employment actions including suspensions, terminations, transfers, etc. to be reviewed by HR.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

- Proficient in Valiant a plus
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 + years’ management experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the guarding industry managing at least 150 officers and a portfolio of at least 30 private clients
- Strong customer service skills, excellent communication skills and experience in client relations
- Strong preference for candidates with a bachelor’s degree and experience managing profit/loss statements and with client negotiations/collections matters.
- Prior verifiable employment references and ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen.
