Job Summary:
The Vail Resorts Director, Hospitality Marketing plays a critical role in setting the vision and growth strategies to deliver the occupancy and revenue goals for Vail Resorts’ lodging division. This person will lead the teams responsible for marketing Vail Resorts’ collection of properties – including owned properties, managed properties, and the Rock Resorts portfolio of signature hotels – in support of annual and long-term business objectives.
Specific responsibilities include developing and driving the multi-year growth strategy for lodging Room Nights and Revenue growth, driving demand for the transient and group business, delivering leads for the meetings and events segments, and creative/content development and deployment in support of demand generation. This work is done in collaboration with stakeholders across functions and locations and is executed in concert with the overall Vail Resorts guest-centric marketing approach to drive visitation to its world-class mountain resorts.

Job Responsibilities:
- Partners with key Hospitality Senior Leadership Team members to drive long-term divisional planning (VR2030), which frames the division’s annual and seasonal business and experience planning
- Serves as a key member on both the Brand Marketing Senior Leadership Team and Hospitality Senior Leadership Team to help set and drive overall strategy for visitation and revenue growth to Vail Resorts’ collection of world-class mountain resorts
- Develops key business priorities and initiatives for the Hospitality division, and leads related integrated marketing efforts to deliver transient and group Room Night and Revenue targets, in service of driving resort visitation
- Leads, influences, and partners with key stakeholders including Revenue Management, Corporate Hospitality, Revenue Analytics, and Operational leadership to secure alignment against enterprise priorities
- Monitors business performance and creates plans to address opportunities/needs
- Ensures adherence to brand guidelines for the company’s lodging brands, including the signature RockResorts collection, individual hotel/property brands, Vail Resorts Meetings & Events, and Vail Resorts Weddings
- Partners with cross-functional businesses (Pass, Visitation, Ski School, Rentals, etc.) to drive integrated marketing strategies and efficient go-to-market plans
- Leads cross-functional teams (Media, CRM, Analytics, Digital, PR, Research, etc.) to plan/execute/optimize acquisition and retention efforts across all channels
- Oversees planning and execution of company-wide promotions and sales
- Leads new resort and property marketing integrations
- Develops and manages the hospitality marketing operating and labor expense budget
- Provides leadership and direction for the Hospitality Marketing team; oversees talent acquisition and onboarding of team members; creates and executes talent development plans to foster the professional and personal growth of the team in the service of creating a high-performing team
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors’ degree and 6-8+ years’ marketing leadership experience, delivering business and revenue results, preferably in the travel and/or hospitality industry; experience working in a multi-location environment a plus
- 5+ years of supervisory experience must excel at developing a team and those around them to reach their highest potential
- Confident, collaborative leader who can function effectively in a matrixed environment by successfully leading through influence with Director, VP, and Executive stakeholders
- Pursues work with energy and drive; adept at assessing and utilizing business data to identify needs and capitalize on opportunities; must be data-driven and excel at business storytelling
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude, with the ability to be agile in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently, take the initiative, and drive results in a cross-functional environment, incorporating new ideas, technologies, and approaches to business
- Must have a high degree of emotional intelligence, seek and deliver candid feedback--always seeking new ways to improve as a leader
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $129,900 - $166,950 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
