Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate with staff members and family members a variety of activities and events for residents in an assisted living or nursing home setting.
- Maintaining a calendar of activities for 3 assisted livingfacilities and effectively communicating it to participants.
- Overseeing on-site and off-site group activities.
- Posting a monthly calendar of events.
- Arranging travel to off-site activities for participants approved for taking out the facility.
- Must be able to drive facility bus to transport participants off-site.
- Plan corporate social events.
- Available for some weekend appointments including transportation to church and other weekend activities.
- Monitor volunteer program.
- Prepare and post activities calendar and corresponding budget by the 28th of each month.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Develop and implement programs that promote socialization, engagement, and overall well-being of residents.
- Provide counseling and support to residents and their families regarding aging issues, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), and memory care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for residents.
- Must have prior experience as Activities/Recreational Director in an assisted living facility, adult day care or nursing and or rehabilitation center.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with seniors in an assisted living or nursing home setting.
- Knowledge of aging issues, dementia care, and memory care techniques.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
