Tetra Tech's Emergency Management and Disaster Recovery Division (TDR) is seeking an experienced Director of Logistics Operations with significant prior experience in logistics and/or emergency sheltering operations. The ideal candidate will have a combination of marketing, financial, and operations expertise with a passion for building an industry leading program within Tetra Tech. The candidate will be supported by an existing business development and operations team within Tetra Tech however they will be expected to build upon our core sales and operations expertise within the emergency logistics and sheltering operations space. The ideal candidate will be expected to have 8 plus years of demonstrated experience in the emergency field logistics / shelter operations space. Existing relationships with State and large municipal (City/County) emergency management agencies is preferred. This is a Remote role.
Key responsibilities:
• Provide overall management of the Tetra Tech logistics practice
• Market Tetra Tech logistics and sheltering related services to federal, state, and local government clients
• Build relationships with strategic subcontractors for reliable services
• Serve as a senior leader in the execution of contracted logistics / sheltering assignments
• Develop standard operating procedures for effective project execution
• Work with Tetra Tech IT department in the development of technologies and data reporting to enhance operations
• Develop the practice by recruiting quality staff and mentoring / growing junior staff
• Network with other industry providers and subcontractors
Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in a leadership position responsible for executing related programs or initiatives
• Familiarity with federal emergency management programs including preparedness, response, and recovery
• Experience with GovWin, GSA, SAM, and other government research and procurement tools preferred
• Experience with various government purchasing contracts including OASIS, GSA Schedules, and agency contracts
• Bachelor's degree in public administration, emergency management or a related field is preferred
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Strong understanding of financial budgeting processes and principles with the ability to forecast and maintain accurate project financials
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with legal and regulatory processes to ensure company compliance
• Adaptability to respond quickly to adjustments to initiatives and priorities; organizational skills and flexibility to maintain multiple priorities
• Ability to travel extensively as required
