Our client is seeking a motivated Director of IT to lead technological initiatives and bring cutting edge solutions to their operations. As the Director of IT, you will oversee all aspects of the company's IT infrastructure, working in a hybrid role that offers autonomy and the opportunity to shape and streamline the technology landscape. You will be instrumental in integrating systems, ensuring data integrity, enhancing security measures, and optimizing technological capabilities to align with business goals. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, a background in startup environments, and the ability to bring IT functions in-house.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the IT function, establishing strategic goals and priorities in alignment with the company's objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify technology needs and opportunities for improvement.
- Integrate existing systems (Sage for financials, Service Titan for service platform, ADP for payroll services) to streamline data and enhance operational efficiency.
- Implement robust security measures and protocols to safeguard company data and systems.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new hardware, software, and tools to enhance productivity and performance.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of servers, ensuring uptime and reliability.
- Develop and execute plans to bring IT functions in-house, optimizing resources and capabilities.
- Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and partners to support IT initiatives and projects.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in IT leadership roles within a service industry environment.
- Strong background in cybersecurity, systems integration, and server management.
- Proficiency in managing Office Exchange and other related office systems.
- Experience with Sage, Service Titan, and ADP or similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in leading IT initiatives in a startup or rapidly growing organization.
- Ability to work autonomously, making strategic decisions and managing projects effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact and collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of VC-backed environments is a plus.
- Contract negotiation and oversight
- Recommendations for hardware purchase or lease options
- Budget development and oversite
- Pre and post-acquisition assessment and prioritization; travel as needed
- Develop internal Security Protocols & Governance including Security Awareness Training
- Experience in both Server and Cloud based environments
- Experience in platform transitioning and email migration
- Device and list management
- Device procurement and set up as needed
- Assess and identify potential opportunities with Telecom, VOIP, ISP providers
