Compensation:

• In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Role Summary

The primary purpose of the Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations is to work with the foundation relations team to meet its annual fundraising goal by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, tracking and stewarding private, family and Corporate foundation support.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule of grant inquiries, proposals and reports.
• Responsible for managing the portfolio of Foundation, corporate, service club, and employee group funders and knowledgeable of Foundation and Corporate prospects.
• Create letters of inquiry, concept papers and proposals; write stewardship reports and acknowledgement letters for Foundation and Corporate funders with the goal of securing 5 to 6-figures’ worth of grants from foundations and corporations, striving to help meet Wayfinder’s overall annual goal in private and Corporate foundation support.
• Meet reporting and other grant requirements.
• Provide thoughtful, consistent and appropriate stewardship.
• Research and identify prospective Foundation and Corporate funders.
• Responsible for monitoring and entering activity and contacts in Virtuous including prospect data, proposal tracking, reporting deadlines and grant conditions.
• Build strong relationships with current and potential funders and cultivate relationships with prospects that lead to invitations to apply for funding.
• Research and track statistics and data relevant to the field
• Monitor trends in Foundation and Corporate giving and in the field to help maximize opportunities for support.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of Wayfinder’s programs, initiatives and long-term plan.
• Working with the Associate Vice President of Foundation Relations and program staff, assess the viability of program performance measures and outcomes for fundraising and advise improved processes for stating or tracking outcomes as necessary.
• Working with the Associate Vice President of Foundation Relations and key staff in finance, build budgets and track expenses for related program grants.
• Working with development and communications staff, oversee proper recognition of Foundation donors in the Annual Report, the annual donor wall and other benefits as appropriate
• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent client and donor information.
• Assist the development department with special events, donor tours and donor solicitation as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree required.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in grant writing with a proven track record.
• Outstanding writing, research, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced ability with Microsoft Office and Virtuous Donor Software preferred.
