Role Purpose
The role of the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis is to provide innovative strategic and administrative leadership to the organization through rigorous Financial Planning and Analysis.
The Director Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for developing and overseeing the financial management of the Foundation by providing financial projection, accounting services and budget analysis. The Director Financial Planning & Analysis will offer quality, meaningful analyses and financial perspectives necessary for strategic planning; provides critical and diverse data analysis and reporting and analytics to support the Foundation Opportunity model.
This position will manage the team responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate execution of regular Financial Planning activities and working closely with other members of the executive team.
Key Responsibilities

  • Be an integral member of the Global Finance Leadership team, along with the Accounting, Global Assurance, Procurement and Contract, and Policies teams, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer
  • Be an innovative business partner, building cross-functional collaborative relationships, and providing strategic financial analysis to optimize resource allocation
  • Develop, direct, and manage financial analysis and budgeting policies and processes, working closely with our boards, executive and senior management, programmatic units, and operations departments, ensuring policies and practice are within established spending guidelines
  • Support colleagues on complex areas in planning including strategy and budget alignment, data governance, budgeting/financial management, data model structuring, and policy development Provide leadership and guidance on all Financial Planning policies and practice to staff and senior management, including the budgetary and management reporting impact of the interdependencies of OSF's contracts, grants, business operations, and accounting systems
  • Prepare and maintain metric driven financial models to forecast and evaluate spending results to drive accountability and track performance, using financial systems and business intelligence tools Prepare and present analyses, forecasts, and recommendations to Executive team to support critical decisions
  • Provide leadership and development of direct reports, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement
  • Ensure that the organization and its staff adhere to internal policies and practice sound Financial Planning with ongoing analyses and reporting

Qualifications
Essential:
  • Educated to a degree-level (or equivalent)

Desirable:
  • CPA (or equivalent)

Experience
Essential:
  • Substantial, diverse and international leadership experience in the following subject areas: Budgeting; Financial Management Reporting; Analysis and Control; Strategic Planning; and Finance Policy Development and Management
  • Significant and demonstrated experience developing and managing staff (on an international basis) to achieve specific results within a medium-term time frame
  • Financial team leadership experience, having reported to a CFO and the experience of being on the financial leadership team

Desirable:
  • Workday Adaptive Insights and/or NetSuite experience
  • Nonprofit experience with both c-3 and c-4 funding
  • Familiarity with cloud-based Financial Planning solutions
  • Knowledge of NetSuite, Concur and various Salesforce platforms is an advantage
  • Exposure to Grants processing and familiarity with OSF's entity structure preferred

  • Excellent computer and analytical skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and cloud-based platforms and experience with internet research and database management
  • Strong communication (written, verbal and listening), interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to show discretion and handle confidential issues
  • Must be able to exercise critical thinking skills including good judgment and be a solutions-oriented individual; Strong understanding of cultural differences and the proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds within a complex organization
  • Ability to design and plan complex Financial Planning analysis involving cross collaboration and articulating the time, budget, stakeholder and success measures
  • Skilled in building strategic internal partnerships and align to OSF strategic objectives
  • Able to nurture relationships with external partners whilst; exercising considerable discretion
  • Skilled in drafting and managing an agile financial plan and its development process

The salary range for this role in the U.S. is $145,100.00 - $275,700.00 (USD)The final offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set and level of experience."
