CardWorks Servicing ("CWS") is one of the largest privately-held provider of outsourcing services for bankcard-related products to banks and non-bank lenders in North America. CWS offers management expertise across the credit spectrum and supports both MasterCard and Visa accounts as well as a variety of private label debit, credit, stored value, and customer bankcards.
Cardworks is looking to hire a Financial Planning & Analysis Director to join the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and analysis of reports and data analytics for internal and external company use. In this role you will prepare financial statements, forecasts, and budgets related to company results, focusing primarily on company Operating Expenses. The candidate will be involved in providing senior management with timely and insightful information to drive decisions; and has exposure to both Corporate Planning leadership as well as Business Unit Finance teams, with a particular focus on the HR team, analyzing people-related expenses.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare key reports for Senior leaders in the company. Reports include monthly/quarterly presentations for company executive leadership team and board of directors.
- Support companywide Operating Expense (Opex) analyses, including the creation, review and analysis of Opex results and forecasts. There will be a particular focus on supporting the corporate group Opex P&L including headcount/personnel, finance & legal and other like expenses.
- Manage and optimize departmental P&Ls, ensuring sustained profitability and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Drive improvement of analysis through decreasing the time spent getting and preparing data, automating manual steps where possible, and leveraging multiple data sources where available, resulting in more timely and insightful analysis for leadership.
- Develop knowledge of financial systems to assist with reporting of results and sourcing of data for ongoing monitoring of financial performance.
- Building and developing relationships with HR & business unit finance teams
- Performing ad hoc analytics to better understand key trends and drivers.
- Identify opportunities for increased automation, enhanced controls and increased efficiencies.
- Develop, implement, and manage financial KPIs for all departments, supporting overall strategic objectives.
- Margin analyses, including areas of operational efficiency improvement for the company.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or similar discipline required.
- Five years of analytical experience with financial analysis or comparable experience.
- Experience with card business model and economics a plus.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple demands, driving results within critical deadlines.
