The Director of Facilities and Maintenance oversees the maintenance, safety, and security of school Facilities and equipment. This position is responsible for two primary operations at the School: 1) the maintenance, security and safety of all School Facilities and 2) the planning and oversight of School maintenance and construction projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage all Maintenance and custodian staff members.
- Direct oversight of major projects such as remodeling or improvement of the physical buildings and grounds
- Supervise, direct, and perform daily activities for all aspects of campus maintenance and custodial duties for the parish and school buildings
- Coordinate and oversees maintenance, contractors and vendors
- Ensure the safety and security of all buildings and grounds.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records (inventory, equipment, etc.)
- In charge of handling all inspections (Fire, Health, Building)
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget for area of responsibility and administers the expenditures of approved items in accordance with financial procedures
- Reports all accidents and/or potential hazards to the Principal immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible;Attends in-service training to develop and improve knowledge and skills of building service work;
- Perform other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of High School Facilities and Maintenance Administration experience preferred
- General Knowledge and ability to use tools.
- Knowledge and understanding if OSHA guidelines.
- Must be a good communicator with good leadership qualities and good time-management skills.
- Ability to pay attention to details and meet assigned goals within the assigned timeframe.
- Lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis, throughout the day without assistance.
- Stand, bend, stoop, pull and lift on a regular basis for at least 50% of each workday.
- Be available to accept calls in the event of an emergency or special need 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
- Valid drivers license.
- Must pass a Level 2 background check.
