PURPOSE:

The Director of Events Sales and Catering for Pink Taco reports to the interim VP of Sales and CMO. You will be responsible for implementing, building, rolling out, and executing key programs and initiatives that will drive the sales & revenue of each restaurant to achieve growth for our company. DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITES:

  • Familiarity with New York, California, Boston, DC and Miami Markets
  • Provide full cycle sales leadership from top line revenue generation, qualifying, negotiating, and closing business for the property and client support.
  • Create and implement effective strategies for revenue growth and customer satisfaction for each location, ensuring team achievement of established targets.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with key venue personnel at each restaurant to enhance the overall business relationship with venue.
  • Develop and execute strategic plan for each location to achieve monthly and annual sales targets and expand our position with existing accounts.
  • Responsible for guiding each restaurant through event experiences, providing solutions that meet their goals and objectives to result in a compelling event experience.
  • Provide financial leadership of the sales function to include forecast group and Catering, revenue, participating in annual budget process, preparing for, and participating in financial reviews at property level and above.
  • Drive results by establishing sales objectives through forecasting and developing goals for each restaurant.
  • Actively pursuing all appropriate business opportunities withing designated General Managers including responding to leads, customer solicitation, and relationship building
  • Generate new group leads through proactive solicitation using resources such as the internet, 3rd party vendors, brand resources, property sales system, etc.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative feedback to measure effectiveness and efficiency of event sales team and processes and apply a continuous improvement plan.
  • Works with Marketing on lead generation.
  • Assigns group function space effectively to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain established client relationships and generate new relationships during event.
  • Ensure events in the system are updated and closed upon completion.
  • Ensure menus, information packets, standard guest emails, terms and conditions, manager/chef briefs, costing/proposal documents, BEOs, briefing sheets, filing, and follow-up systems are maintained.
  • Work with the GM to ensure all events are accurately costed and deliver profit at company-agreed margins.
  • Monitors event activities to ensure client satisfaction and resolution of any problems that arise.
  • Direct the setup, decoration, installation, and teardown and ensure it conforms to client requirements.
  • Manage complete billing process for events.
  • Attends off-site networking events to build clientele.
  • Assists and/ or completes additional tasks as assigned.
  • Manage all client communication and inquiries relating to the sale and production of event catering daily, ensuring the highest quality experience for clients is consistently delivered.
  • Oversee completion and sending of invoices and any updates as needed.
  • Arrange for and attend site visits, walk-throughs, and tastings as needed.
  • Communicate with client regarding event floorplans, timelines, insurance, permitting, and rental equipment requirements.
  • Manage internal team meetings, BEO’s meetings and communications relating to the production of Events, while meeting weekly deadlines relating to the completion of food, beverage, staffing needs and rental equipment orders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in hospitality management, marketing, or related field.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • 21+ years of age
  • Minimum of (5) five years of experience in sales & catering management
  • Possession of or the ability to possess all state required work cards.
  • Proficient in Windows MS Office, Open Table, Outlook, GATHER, Triple Seat (or other sales platforms)
  • Result driven with the ability to meet or exceed budgeted sales goals.
  • Knowledge of profitability analysis and budgeting, cost of sales, payroll management, purchasing, receiving, inventories and cost controls
  • Knowledge of state and local laws as it applies to liquor, labor, and health code regulations.
  • Experience with POS systems and back-office reporting systems
  • Familiarity with wine, beer and spirits
  • Proper lifting techniques

  • Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and the public

  • Competitive Pay ($90,000 - $100,000) + Commission
