The Future of Veterinary Medicine We’re building the future of veterinary medicine at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, thanks to our transformative Gift of Love campaign to expand and enhance our clinical, educational, and research capacities. Construction is currently underway to add 37,000 square feet of new and renovated space, ensuring AMC is at the forefront of veterinary medicine for generations to come. About the Director of Emergency & CriticalCare and Radiology The Director of Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) and Radiology is part of the hospital clinical services team and assists with the organization, direction, management, and evaluation of patient care services for the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Services, and Radiology areas. The Director is responsible for process improvement activities and reporting of key performance indicators. Duties and Responsibilities (including machines to be operated): Responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial management of Emergency & Critical Care and Radiology services Develop action plans and report outcomes to the Chief Veterinary Technician Assume budgetary and fiscal accountability and is responsible for the ongoing effective operation of units Partners with the hospital’s leadership team to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, staff development, and career ladder to ensure compliance with national standards and state regulatory requirements Provide input to strategic decisions related to clinical nursing Monitor operations such as level of nursing care to improve the day-to-day operations of assigned hospital departments Mentor and guide Nursing Manager, Team Leaders, Lead Technicians, and Administrator on Duty to ensure excellence in hospital’s functionality Act as liaison between clinical staff and Department Heads, Service Heads, and Senior Veterinarians Responsible for the overall supervision of staff in ECC and Radiology Ensure compliance with all accrediting agencies Must have strong knowledge of all aspects of Emergency & Critical Care and Radiology services and patients, including scheduling and other areas as applicable Perform responsibilities in accordance with hospital goals, objectives, policies, and procedures Demonstrates core value of CARE through positive behavior and acting as an ambassador for AMC Ensure a commitment to excellent customer service Act as Chief Veterinary Technician as needed All other related projects and duties as assigned Desired Qualifications (including education & experience): Current NYS Veterinary Technician Licensure required, VTS preferred 5 years supervisory/management experience required 3-5 years Veterinary Nursing Experience in Emergency & Critical Care and Radiology Bachelor’s Degree preferred Reports to: Chief Veterinary Technician Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
