Purpose of the Position:
Reporting to the SVP Development, the Director of Development Operations plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing various aspects of fundraising and data management operations within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of Salesforce administration, fundraising technology administration, data analytics and reporting, stewardship programs, and development support. This role requires a mindset for strategy and operational delivery combined. In this pivotal role, attention to detail, technical proficiency, and dedication to maintaining data accuracy will be essential to the success of Win’s development efforts. Your contributions will enable us to engage constituents effectively, make data-informed decisions, and advance our mission.
The Director incorporates best practices for data maintenance, identifying biographical and gift entry errors and working with the Director of Database Management and Stewardship on proactive data cleanses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee accurate management of all donor gifts in our CRM database (Salesforce) and other tracking tools. Supervise full scope of gift processing to ensure that gifts are accurately captured and coded.
- Maintain and improve data entry procedures and coding standards. Document standard operations procedures and maintain digital library of current policies, forms, and training materials.
- In partnership with Development Coordinator, oversee generation of receipts, acknowledgment letters, and managing thank you letter personalization.
- Oversee moves management record keeping and reporting for individual and corporate fundraising teams.
- Work collaboratively with the finance department to complete regular reconciliations to ensure all donations are accurately accounted for, allocated and reported.
- Oversee the production of detailed and summary daily, monthly and quarterly gift reports for SVP Development and the Executive Team
- Working in conjunction with development team members, reviews open pledges for accuracy at start of fiscal year and coordinate with Finance team. Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for the development and finance departments to enable effective tracking in and management of donations and donors.
- Oversees data integrity projects including ad-hoc and large scale data cleansing efforts and coordinates the development and use of reports and data extracts to monitor data accuracy, quality and consistency.
- Implement data quality controls and routinely audit data to maintain high levels of accuracy.
- Develop, maintain, and improve data transfer systems that seamlessly connect Salesforce with online fundraising and email platforms, as well as other departments and technologies.
- Continuously optimize data transfer workflows for efficiency.
- Offer ongoing support, training, and guidance to team members on Salesforce-related matters.
- Manage all aspects of Classy WHAT ELSE technology, including configuration, maintenance, and optimization.
- Develop and generate reports to support development team metrics.
- Supervises and mentors the Director of Database Management and Donor Stewardship, and the Development Coordinator.???
- Serves as the Development Department’s lead liaison to the IT Services Team

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, as well as a minimum 6-8 years working directly with donor data and/or information services at large, complex fundraising organizations. Must have comprehensive knowledge of Salesforce and current Development methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience managing best practices and business rules, creates fundraising reports for segmented audiences, maintains data hygiene, and manages a donor database.
- Must have the ability to creatively problem solve, think strategically and to anticipate the impacts of decision-making across multiple departments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to effectively analyze, interpret, evaluate, and communicate simple and complex technical information to a non-technical audience. The ability to disseminate complex information and business rules to a wide audience with varying skill sets is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with other departments from a Development perspective, ideally, IT and Finance offices.
- Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills; exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information a must.
- Comfort with using personal computers, tablets, and software programs for retrieving, organizing, researching, and presenting appropriate donor/prospect information.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Fundraising Technology: Knowledge of online fundraising platforms like Classy
- Orient new hires on Development Operations procedures, train on use of Development database, and conduct regular trainings for department staff.
