As we continue to grow and expand our impact, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts and strengthen our connections with the community and corporate partners.
The Director of Development will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission and vision of our organization. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, with a strong emphasis on community and corporate grants and foundations. The successful candidate will foster inclusivity and diversity in our fundraising efforts.
Job Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy
  • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan that aligns with the organization's mission, goals, and values.
  • Identify and prioritize funding opportunities, with a particular focus on community and corporate grants and foundations.
  • Lead efforts to diversify revenue streams and secure funding from new sources.
  • Manage and create special events, appeals, campaigns, and other strategies to achieve our fundraising goals.

Grant and Foundation Relations
  • Research, identify, and cultivate relationships with community and corporate foundations.
  • Prepare high-quality grant proposals, reports, and presentations that align with the priorities and values of potential funders.
  • Manage grant application timelines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop partnerships with program leaders to assess needs and identify funding opportunities.

Community Engagement
  • Engage with the local community to build strong relationships and partnerships.
  • Organize and participate in community events and outreach activities to raise awareness of our organization's work.
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders to identify shared goals and opportunities for collaboration.

Corporate Partnerships
  • Identify and develop relationships with corporate partners that align with our mission and values.
  • Create and manage corporate partnership opportunities, including sponsorships, employee engagement initiatives, and cause-related marketing campaigns.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Masters preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing community and corporate grants and foundation funding.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to integrate these principles into all aspects of fundraising.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling and grant proposal writing.
  • Experience with donor management software and fundraising tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • A collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented mindset.
