The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will serve as a link between the University and the Corporate and Foundation community, building partnerships through engagement, sponsorship, and funding opportunities.
The Director will closely partner with key stakeholders across the university to develop and retain relationships between the colleges and targeted Corporate and Foundation funders, create strategies to advance Park’s mission by leveraging funding and engagement opportunities, and work closely with the Advancement team to build strategic stewardship plans for funders.
Position Accountabilities:
Fundraising
- Manage a targeted pool of local and national foundations and corporate prospects.
- Advances institutional priorities by securing Corporate and Foundation support through direct funding, gifts in-kind, or other agreements.
- Develops and executes cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Creates strategies to engage, elevate, and encourage key Corporate and Foundation partners toward greater involvement with the university.
- Works externally with foundation program officers and corporate executives and partners.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements funder site and campus visits.
Proposal Writing & Reports
- Meets with faculty members and other stakeholders to gather information to develop detailed and compelling proposals.
- Drafts letters of inquiry, stewardship reports, and other documents, as needed.
- Tracks their own cultivation and fundraising activities through existing databases and systems and generates reports on their own work to share with colleagues and senior management.
- Manage reporting requirements for all Corporate and Foundation gifts.
Communications
- Helps to create communication and marketing strategies for the university in its work with corporations and Foundations.
Collaborating
- In collaboration with the Advancement team, build increased involvement of alumni, parents of current students, and other friends of the University who are in senior positions within corporations to increase corporate support, as well as individual giving by those individuals.
- Coordinates with Athletics, opportunities for corporate sponsorship.
- Works with the Advancement team to coordinate activities, develop best practices, streamline processes, and improve overall fundraising capacity.
Other
- Serve as a liaison for Park University with various constituencies to include representing the University at official functions, community functions and sponsored events.
- Assist with special fundraising projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s Degree is preferred.
- 5-7 years of front-line fundraising experience with demonstrated success in Corporate and Foundation relations; Higher education experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in building strong professional relations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to interface effectively with Corporate and Foundation representatives, as well as University stakeholders.
- A sincere interest in being a member of a highly interactive and mutually supportive team.
- Resourceful and able to collaborate with internal and external constituents at all levels.
- Self-motivated with the ability to think and plan strategically.
- Excellent attention to detail; strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach that is donor-centric, responsive, and actively seeks to deepen current donor relationships and forge new ones.
- Proficient in Raiser’s Edge, or similar CRM, Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
