Reports to: Director of Technology
Overview
This position exists in order to efficiently coordinate technology-related solutions that encompass Power BI and Power Automate expertise, Agile methodologies, production, product, and documentation support, Jira administration, and any other necessary responsibilities that may arise. The Agile Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role in optimizing software development processes, supporting the team in technology implementation and initiatives, and ensuring the seamless operation of diverse technological tasks within and throughout RED RHINO's Technology Department.
Essential Functions
Agile Processes Facilitation
- Facilitate Scrum Events and Ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives
- Collaborate with and support the Product Owner in maintaining a well-prioritized and refined product backlog
Team Support
- Coach and mentor the Scrum Team on the principles and practices of Scrum
- Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's progress towards their goals; enable others to do the same
- Protect the team by shielding them from external distractions and unnecessary interruptions
- Collect and organize feedback from field users into bug tracking system(s)
Technology Integration and Support
- Utilize Power BI to enhance data-driven decision-making capabilities across the organization
- Utilize Power Automate to facilitate streamlined processes and tasks, optimizing workflow automation for increased organizational efficiency
- Offer Production Support and Product Support to ensure the seamless operation of technology solutions
- Assist the Senior Business Intelligence Engineer in various tasks related to business intelligence and technology integration
- Conduct Jira administration tasks to facilitate project tracking and collaboration
- Contribute to the documentation of Technology Department products and processes, ensuring clarity and accessibility

- Technology Integration Effectiveness: The integration of Power BI and Power Automate into project workflows is consistently successful, ensuring enhanced data analysis, streamlined processes, and solution deployment and implementation.
- Production and Product Support Metrics: The resolution time and customer satisfaction related to Production and Product Support activities is consistently optimal, ensuring efficient and effective problem resolution.
- Documentation Quality and Timeliness: Documentation related to Technology Department products and processes is thorough and timely, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
- Jira Administration Efficiency: Jira Administration tasks are performed effectively and efficiently, including project tracking, collaboration facilitation, and system optimization.
- Agile Coaching Effectiveness: The impact of Agile coaching and mentorship on the team's understanding and application of Agile principles is positively impactful, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: The collaboration between the Agile Solutions Engineer and the Senior Business Intelligence Engineer ensures a seamless blend of skills and expertise.
Skills / Competencies / Experience Required
- Prior Experience: The ideal candidate has considerable experience related to Agile methodologies, including knowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling-in gaps left in the Scrum approach, as well as substantial software development, and/or programming, and/or software engineering expertise.
- Facilitation and Coaching: Strong facilitation skills to lead Scrum Events and coach the team on Agile values, principles, and practices, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills to ensure transparent and open communication within the team, with stakeholders, and across the organization.
- Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Proficient in identifying and addressing impediments and conflicts that arise during the development process, promoting a productive and harmonious work environment.
- Organizational Change Management: Experience in guiding teams and organizations through the change process involved in adopting Agile practices.
- Backlog Management: Competency in backlog refinement and prioritization, working closely with the Product Owner to ensure clear, well-defined user stories.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace uncertainty, as Agile methodologies encourage iterative and incremental development.
- Team Building and Motivation: Skill in building high-performing teams and motivating individuals to achieve their best potential within the Agile environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a seated/stationary position for extended periods of time
- Majority of time will be spent at a computer
- Maintenance of a comfortable workstation, vision and eye care, mobility and stretching, and environment and ergonomics should consistently be considered throughout the workday
Total Rewards
- Salary (exempt): 40-50 hours/week expected for success
- 81K-120K depending on experience
