JOB TITLE: Director of Community Engagement/STEM HubREPORTS TO: Chief Executive OfficerJOB GOAL: The Director of the STEM Hub is responsible for all aspects of the STEM HUB in collaboration with the leadership of EastSide Charter School. This includes strategic planning, the development and implementation of programs and events, the management of day-to-day operations, outreach, and fundraising. The Director provides a visionary plan that the STEM HUB is an institutional leader in STEM, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.

The Director works with our partners to create programming at all levels and to promote, coordinate programming that allows for all students, parents and the community at large to have access to careers and skills in STEM. The Director also works with the CEO and the Director of Finance to secure and maintain grants and donations for the STEM Hub.OVERVIEW: Founded in 1997, EastSide Charter School is a free, public elementary school that educates approximately 450 students grades K-8 in Wilmington, Delaware. EastSide prides itself on being a community-based school,using multiple partnerships, strong relationships with families, and a dedicated and hard-working staff to ensure academic success for its students.

EastSide staff members play a significant role in ensuring that our students develop the character and skills necessary to being an influential and contributing member of the community and global society. This position is suited for someone who is willing to do "Whatever it Takes" to support our students in being successful in school and in life.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Develop and implement visionary programs and events to provide access to STEM for youth and provide training for adults in STEM fields.Promote the STEM Hub both internally and externally.Direct and manage the partnership with WestSide Health in our Student Based Health CenterManage and oversee partnerships with mental health organizations that offer services at our STEM Hub.Manage partnership with REACH Riverside, The Teen Warehouse, Kingswood Community Center, and other community partners to ensure that we are having a positive impact.Develop and grow relationships with outside constituencies who will support programs and work force development training at the STEM Hub as well as overarching initiatives and programs.Represents EastSide Charter School and the STEM Hub in the community and to all internal and external constituencies in a leadership role.Effectively markets EastSide Charter School programs and use of the STEM Hub to ensure high enrollment and substantial use of the facilities.Create and manage job fairs for our community.Pursue fundraising with the Director of Finance to ensure long-term sustainability.Manage grants and communicate progress monitoring effectively with funders.Manage the day-to-day operations of the STEM Hub.Support teacher's efforts to integrate instructional strategies, and multiple technologies that promote cooperative and project based learning at the STEM Hub.Create effective outreach with the community for the use of the STEM Hub during hours outside of the school day.Oversee budgeting of the STEM Hub.Oversee supervision of all partners in the STEM HubSuccessfully supervise all aspects of afterschool activities including the EastSide Athletic Director and Afterschool Administrative Coordinator.Provide direction to all team members involved in the implementation of afterschool activities.Oversee and guide equipment ordering, scheduling games and transportation, and recruiting staff and students while ensuring accountability in the process.Maintain a comprehensive oversight of all activities, ensuring alignment with program goals and school policies.Address any issues related to the execution of afterschool activities promptly and efficiently.Act as the primary point of contact for problem-solving, mitigating conflicts, and ensuring smooth operation of the programs.Foster effective communication between team members, ensuring a seamless flow of information.Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address concerns and streamline processes for successful afterschool programs.Ensure accurate records are maintained including but not limited to: student paperwork (permission slips, physicals, etc.), student and staff attendance, as well as documentation of behavioral issues and injuries.Review staff attendance records and approve/process stipend payments.Ensure the quality of activities by regularly assessing and evaluating programs, making necessary adjustments for improvement.Implement measures to enhance the overall experience for participants and maintain a positive and safe environment. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess the following:BA, Masters preferred.3-5 years teaching experience or educational background preferred in either the sciences, engineering, technology and/or the arts, with a strong personal interest and exposure to all three areas, and the desire and skill to integrate across various disciplines5-10 years business experience preferred including at least 2 years of management experience or project management experience.Knowledge of and experience with current best-practice in inquiry and STEM educationVaried professional experience in the educational field as well as in marketing and/or development.Exceptional entrepreneurial skills and a commitment to innovationAbility to inspire and encourage creative.

Innovative, entrepreneurial thinkingExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staffBackground knowledge on Multi-tierd System of Supports (MTSS); or other similar systems used in the early identification process within the general education settingExperience with Functional Behavioral Analysis (FBAs), in order to help a multi-disciplinary team develop comprehensive Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) COMMITMENT AND COMPENSATION: Length of Work Year: 12 months, select Saturdays, and occasional evening and weekend commitment will be required; occasional travel throughout the state and region.Salary and Benefits: Salary range is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
