Position Summary: The Director of Community Outreach & Engagement will play a pivotal role in expanding the museum's impact by developing and implementing strategies to connect with childcare providers, teens, young parents, nonprofit agencies, and serve as a liaison to early childhood advocates.

This role requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about education, community building, and has a proven track record of engaging diverse groups. The primary objective of this role is to oversee the Museum's largest access programs, including our Partner Schools and the expansion of Museum Without Walls (MWOW). Additionally, this position will play a crucial role in developing, directing and supporting our new Early Childhood Initiative and in developing and executing a Young Parent Program.

This program is aimed at empowering young parents to be their child's first and most effective teacher, providing them with the tools and resources needed to support their child's early development. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a comprehensive Community Outreach strategy that includes partnerships with childcare providers, schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Create and oversee programs and events tailored to teens, young parents, and childcare professionals that promote early childhood education and Engagement with the museum.

Serve as the museum's primary liaison to local, regional, and national early childhood advocacy groups, participating in discussions and initiatives that promote early childhood development. Coordinate with the museum's education and programming teams to ensure that community feedback and needs are integrated into exhibit development and educational offerings. Leverage social media and other digital platforms to enhance community engagement and promote the museum's initiatives and events.

Working closely with marketing to achieve this goal. Secure funding and resources through grant writing, sponsorships, and partnerships to support Community Outreach activities. Working with the VP of Inclusive Excellence & CQI and the development department to achieve this initiative.

Evaluate the effectiveness of Outreach and Engagement strategies through data analysis and community feedback, making adjustments as necessary. Work diligently with the leadership team to achieve this. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field.

Master's degree preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in the English and Spanish language both written and verbally preferred. This person will have frequent contact with the LatinX community Minimum of 5 years of experience in Community Outreach, education, or a related field, with a strong preference for candidates with experience working with children and families; as well as community-based childcare providers in under-resourced communities.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful community engagement strategies. Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including children, teens, parents, and professionals.

Knowledge of early childhood development principles and the educational landscape. Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to meet community needs. Competencies: Self-motivated, forward-thinker with ability to work with minimal supervision Strong written, verbal, and oral presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with the public, staff, vendors, and contractors Strong leadership, management, problem-solving and decision-making skills Driven, energetic, highly collaborative, and results oriented High level of accountability and efficiency, especially while handling multiple tasks Good research, planning, and organizational skills; strong work ethic and follow-through; and excellent attention to detail Demonstrated commitment to the social sector, with an interest in and enthusiasm for museums and/or education Ability to resolve conflicts as they arise Skills and Abilities: Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams Attention to detail Valid driver's license for transportation of mobile exhibits when necessary.
