The Director, Clinical Management is an important role within Mendota Health. The Director, Clinical Management reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and assists the market teams Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Community Engagement Directors (CEDs) and Community Operations Specialists (COS) in effective clinical care and implementation of the strategic priorities within the realm of NP driven wound care at Mendota. The Director, Clinical Management will also assist in the creation of culture and community, support quality wound care to Mendota standards, and participate in appropriate Clinical Management across a market.
Responsibilities
- Champions adherence to Mendota Health clinical quality.
- Manage provider adherence to clinical standards, providing mentorship and coaching as needed.
- Collaborate with Market Executives to manage clinical performance and problem solve issues.
- Identify and address clinical barriers to advanced treatment usage; communicate frequently with CMO to address knowledge gaps, as well as individual NPs.
- Deliver and present information to Community Engagement and Operations teams as appropriate.
- Provide oversight and supervision to team of mobile providers in assigned markets.
- Provide in-person clinical training for new NPs where appropriate.
- Perform clinical duties up to 25% of the time.
- Participate and lead onboarding for new hire NPs.
- Meet weekly 1:1 meetings with market NPs.
- Monitor and address clinical quality by reviewing clinical documentation of NPs on a regular cadence.
- Participate in Clinical Management meetings and presentations.
- Provide subject matter expertise in clinical round tables, case review, and provider meetings.
- Comply with all Mendota wound care guidelines and documentation requirements
- Monitor NPs clinical care for the effectiveness of interventions.
- Assist in tracking of key performance indicators for clinical care.
- Create a culture that fosters quality, problem-solving, accountability, and compassion.
- Partner with clinical and operational leaders to develop and drive clinical standards, reporting metrics, and quality measures.
- Partner with the operations team to develop and implement new workflows and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the CMO to develop education materials and clinical policies.\Maintain compliance with occupational health standards.
- Perform audits on clinical documentation and intervening where necessary.
- Shadow clinicians in the field as needed to determine quality.
- Participate in and complete annual performance evaluations for NPs
- Assist with ensuring that NPs are compliant with all state and practice requirements
- Communicate in a professional, positive, and appropriate manner with all stakeholders
- Escalate concerns to the Market Executive in a timely and appropriate manner
- Accept constructive criticism and feedback in a professional manner
- Consistently attend and participate in all leadership manners in a way that reflects the values and mission of Mendota Health
- Attend weekly 1:1 meeting with CMO.
Education and Experience
- Board Certified/Prepared through AANP, ANCC or NCCPA
- Nurse Practitioner national certification as ANP, FNP, or GNP required or ability to obtain
- Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of assignment or the ability to obtain license
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain State DEA licensure / Prescriptive Authority post - where applicable
- Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program
- Currently holds an active Nurse Practitioner license
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in a clinical setting preferred
- 3+ years of Clinical experience
- Wound care experience preferred
- Experience working in a startup environment a plus
- Experience working in a mobile/multisite care setting
