Job Summary
The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving new logo sales by developing relationships with sales prospects in their assigned market vertical (commercial/retail/fin tech). The Director of Business Development travels to events and meetings associated with their assigned market vertical and communicates with clients/prospects with the intent of growing and nurturing those relationships. This position will partner with the Senior Director of Business Development to ensure the highest level of sales performance and service.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop relevant relationships in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)/Strategic Managed Services and Call Center markets, focusing heavily on contracts that can be created without solicitation or/RFx.
  • Initiate and develop new-logo Business Development pursuits in the commercial/retail/fin tech sectors.
  • Create a market vertical plan for each vertical assigned that identifies revenue opportunities, new markets, competitive threats, and relationship objectives.
  • Carry out Business Development to qualify revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, verify, and deliver revenue generating deals.
  • Partner with internal SME (Subject Matter Expert) team members to close sales.
  • For each revenue opportunity, create a key account plan that outlines both accurate timelines and steps necessary to secure a new contract.
  • Actively participate in the RFx process when required. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Tracking the anticipated release of relevant RFx documents
  • Alerting the Marketing team to appropriate registration requirements for each.
  • Reviewing all RFP documents and qualifying the opportunity prior to making a bid/no-bid recommendation.
  • Documenting all activity on CRM (Salesforce)
  • Participating in the RFP writing and review process as required
  • Completing a final RFP Quality Assurance review form prior to final submission
  • Requesting a debrief and documenting when a sale is not closed.
  • Meet and exceed sales goals, revenue goals, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) by employing proven sales techniques.
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure the proper handling of administrative and procedural tasks related to contracts, implementation, and the resolution of issues when required.
  • Serve as the point of contact during contract implementation facilitating the successful implementation of the contract by working with company departments.
  • Conceive, develop, and present ideas, enhancements and solutions to address operational challenges.
  • Manage expenses and adhere to company policies.
  • Communicating industry changes to clients, prospects, and internally.
  • Utilize customer relationship management software for management of relationships and forecasting; all communication efforts and opportunity tracking shall be maintained in this manner.
  • Travel to customer locations in the assigned territory within and outside the US. Travel is estimated to be between 30-40%.
  • Travel to corporate office locations and attend company meetings, as required.
  • Perform a variety of other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned. Responsibilities may change and grow over time.

Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, marketing, or related field required. Equivalent work experience in similar positions may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in call center industry or related business process outsourcing (BPO)/managed services industry required. Prefer individuals with demonstrated success selling Business Process outsourcing/Strategic Managed Services and or Call Center services to B2B and B2C prospects.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of BPO sales and relationship management.
  • Minimum five (5) years of direct field sales experience required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a revenue generating role with the expectation to drive a minimum of $5M in annual new logo revenue.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in account strategy, account planning and relationship management.
  • Must have existing and actionable relationships in the assigned market vertical.
  • Must be able to forge relationships with key account stakeholders to shape opportunities.
  • Must be a team player who can partner with Coast and its affiliate partners.
  • Extensive knowledge in contract and procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of solutions that the assigned market vertical purchases.
  • Proven experience developing opportunities.
  • Proven experience in new market/new logo Business Development.
  • Experience in self-managed work team environment.
  • Experience managing annual budget for travel, conferences and expenses.
  • Demonstrated history of success in sales
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Willingness and ability to work from a home office. A computer with a built-in web camera, headset, charger and company phone are standard issue for this role.
  • Maintain internet speed requirement of 25mbps.
  • Working knowledge of modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Establish a good working relationship with team members and internal contacts in order to maintain and continuously strive to improve the level of overall service being provided.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly establish rapport and build positive relationships with senior level executives, influencers, and decision makers within target prospect organizations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use industry knowledge to identify process improvements to enhance company’s service offerings in the marketplace.
  • Ability to facilitate meaningful solutions in a complex technology-driven business environment.
  • Ability to comply with rules, regulations, laws, and methods.
  • Self-motivated individual with the demonstrated ability to work independently in the absence of immediate supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
  • Ability to meet ongoing reporting needs and associated deadlines for role including, but not limited to, timely CRM entries, travel reports, expense reports, opportunity qualification reports, etc.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check.
  • Travel is required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience using customer relationship management software (CRM) to track and report sales activities. Salesforce experience highly preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience using Microsoft suite of office software (Outlook, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint).
  • Experience using industry software for research preferred. Examples include ZoomInfo, Bid Prime, Bloomberg, Becker’s, FedMine, GOVWIN, etc.
  • Maintain accurate, professional, and active LinkedIn profile for the purpose of Business networking and relationship building.
Working Conditions
Position may require occasional weekend and evening work. This position requires travel by all available modes and includes frequent overnight travel.
