Job Description

True Food Kitchen is seeking a dynamic Director of Brand Marketing to make a significant impact on our leading restaurant brand. This role is pivotal in achieving company goals, driving sales, traffic, affinity, and loyalty. The director will lead brand campaigns, product launches, guest engagement promotions, and brand innovations. Responsibilities include translating marketing strategy into actionable plans, communicating details to cross-functional teams, and collaborating on new restaurant planning and execution. This position requires strong management, organization, creativity, restaurant/hospitality industry knowledge, planning, production, and partnership experience to ensure all projects are executed with exceptional quality and efficiency. This is a full-time position in the True Food Kitchen Corporate office, reporting to the Senior/Vice President of Marketing.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop a strategic annual marketing plan.
  • Create and lead strategic creative development briefs to guide the creation of new communications in partnership with internal cross-functional partners and an external agency roster.
  • Lead new product launches with consumer-insight-driven go-to-market strategies. Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure a flawless consumer experience across all media touchpoints and in-restaurant. Lead the timing and sequencing of new communications campaigns, guiding communications development from brief to launch.
  • Oversee internal and external communications partners, across traditional agencies, experiential, social media, creative, and tech teams to manage the successful launch of Brand campaigns.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal Creative and cross-functional teams to bring communication strategies to life, drive impact, and measure against established KPIs. Develop a high-functioning internal and external communications team.
  • Fosters strong network of collaborative, cross-functional, relationships at all levels and outside of Brand.
  • Leads and inspires functional teams to be product obsessed, customer-focused, innovative, fast-moving, and team-oriented.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to Senior Management and continually assesses competitor initiatives and market trends. 
  • Lead the delivery and execution of all promotions, campaigns and cultural moments utilizing various media including print, digital, outdoor, and internal collateral pieces.
  • In partnership with restaurant operations team, identify strategies that support local sales and growth, outline goals and metrics for success and measure impact for all marketing programs.
  • Build calendar and marketing initiatives that are actionable at the local level with tactics to execute quarterly.
  • Collaborate with Training, Ops, and culinary teams to create training programs and incentive contests aligned with seasonal menus or upsell opportunities.
  • Vet leads and recommends brand partnerships, maintaining ongoing outreach to local partners for community engagement.

New Restaurant Openings

  • Lead new restaurant openings by hiring a local PR agency for a strategic pre-open marketing plan, including job fairs and VIP weekend initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the digital team on a Paid Media and acquisition strategy for CRM database growth.
  • Develop a post-opening marketing plan for sustained awareness and sales.

Communication

  • Supervise communication with general managers and regional directors, keeping them updated on marketing initiatives and promotions.
  • Provide recap summaries, including sales results.
  • Manage communication of promotions, campaigns, and brand updates to property and lifestyle centers for monthly newsletters and advertising.
  • Lead ongoing management of PR emails, responding to media leads with brand messaging. Ensure consistency in brand message development across all communication channels.

 

Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in marketing practice of an agency or corporate/in-house; restaurant /hospitality marketing experience
  • Based in Phoenix, AZ 
  • Proven track record in developing and executing 360-degree marketing programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written communications skills including strategic plans, creative copywriting, and editing.
  • Outstanding attention to project details, sincere enthusiasm, keen organization, ease of multi-tasking and a natural ability to be a team player.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and results-oriented
  • Ability to understand and analyze sales figures, results, and trends.
  • Experienced in managing a large number of projects.
  • Resourceful, solutions-oriented and organized.
  • Strategic thinker; nimble and responds quickly and positively to change.
