Alter Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Admissions Director. Alter Behavioral Health operates a series of evidence-based treatment centers for adults struggling with primary mental health, addiction and co-occurring issues. With locations in South Orange County, Alter Behavioral offers individualized, and comprehensive programs that encompass clinical therapy, and experiential practices. Offerings include residential treatment, intensive outpatient programming, and virtual platforms. Alter Behavioral Health nurtures the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of individuals and their families, from a foundation of compassionate care, clinical expertise, and unconditional love.
As an Admissions Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the Admissions Department within our organization. As an Admissions Director, you will be responsible for managing a team of Admissions coordinators, ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of Admissions.
The organization is highly accredited and growing and is expected to open additional facilities.
Job Summary:
The Admissions Director will aid in the development of staff and department processes to ensure effective coordination, communication, and quality of functions within the admissions process. Will meet the monthly projected targets as set by the CEO.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee admissions coordinators who are responsible for: motivating clients toward change, speaking with family members and clients about treatment, describing services, negotiating rates, coordinating admissions.
- Work with clinical directors to improve client experience in the admissions process with the clinical team and to assign speaking engagements and marketing events are appropriately staffed and attended.
- Develop new protocols and continue to enhance to ensure client care is being addressed, services are being described properly and the client’s situations are being assessed and proper recommendations are being made.
- Oversee the data from the call center and analyze the data to improve processes, functioning and staffing and that the ethical nature of Admissions and intake is being upheld to high standards.
- Analyze outbound referral tracking and make suggestions to Clinical Directors for additional services the community is needing.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager who is responsible for coordinating client services, client relations, and client activities.
- Develop, implement and hold the team to company goals and metrics.
- Verify insurance coverage for potential clients and obtain necessary authorizations and collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely processing of insurance claims
- Reach out and follow through on pay to patient, ensuring the plan is paid in full
- Forecast monthly revenue earnings by plan, client, and facility through analysis on client’s insurance policy reimbursement rates
- Develop marketing strategy and ensure it is being completed and goals are being made.
- Oversee communication between marketing coordinator and digital marketing consultant to ensure updates are being made to keep company services up to date and areas of focus are being prioritized in line with company goals.
- Oversee marketing efforts to ensure referral sources are being communicated with, referral information is communicated to marketing and other appropriate parties to ensure, preserve, and enhance relationships.
- Build relationships and partnerships with other referral sources and organizations.
- All other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business administration, or mental health-related field is preferred.
- 5+ years in Admissions and/or Business Development in mental/behavioral health, residential treatment and/or substance use treatment setting
- Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Salesforce or similar CRM.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Frequently required to sit or stand, use manual dexterity, speak, listen, hear, and write.
- Works in an office environment with little or occasional light physical effort, and low noise.
- May be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building, and periodically drive between facilities owned and operated by Alter Behavioral Health. Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours
- If in personal recovery, a minimum of 2 years clean and sober
Hours and Travel:
- This is a full time, hourly exempt position. This position requires some evening, weekend or on-call coverage as needed to ensure coverage of Admissions phones.
- This position works at all locations owned and operated by Alter Behavioral Health to include: California Rehab Campus, Alter Mental Health-DP, Alter Mental Health-MV, Altignis Health, and Alter Behavioral Health. Travel between the locations or to off-site meetings and asks is a requirement and occurs with the employee’s personal vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
