Position:      Associate Director of Admissions

Reports to:  Dean for Enrollment Management

Status:         Full-time, Exempt

Salary:         $80,000 - $95,000 (annual w/benefits)

Location:    Belmont, CA, US

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate Director of Admissions serves as a senior member of the Enrollment and Admissions teams, supervising the team of Admissions counselors and transfer admissions advisors, each working with an assigned population of prospects and students. The Associate Director implements a recruitment, outreach, communication, and conversion strategy for assigned prospective student populations in collaboration with the Dean for Enrollment Management. These strategies include hosting on-campus events, participating in high school/community college/graduate visits and fairs, collaborating with community organizations, engaging in impactful recruitment travel, providing high levels of customer service through the admissions process, collaborating with the marketing communications office to create impactful communications, and implementing technology and social media in the recruitment/conversion process.

The Associate Director manages the file review process and funnel management strategies to ensure thoughtful and timely action by staff. In addition, the Associate Director is responsible for managing an assigned geographic territory or assigned program, supporting all areas of customer service for prospective students throughout the admissions process. They inform and counsel prospective students about NDNU and its programs, support the compilation and review of Admissions documentation, and work with the Admissions Committee to render admissions decisions in a timely manner. They support the compliance of all admissions policies and procedures through ongoing professional development and training. Serves as PDSO, serving international students and supporting compliance in the international student process.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a senior leader within the Enrollment Division, effectively collaborating with the Director and/or Associate Director of Financial Aid, Data and Admissions Operations Specialist, and Digital Marketing Manager as appropriate to address institutional and departmental challenges.
  • Supervises admissions counselors working with transfer and graduate leads and students. Collaborates with team recruiting post-traditional aged (working adults) transfer students and graduate students.
  • Oversees the implementation of recruitment, outreach, communication, and conversion strategies for assigned prospective student populations.
  • Directs file review process for assigned populations, ensuring timely and consistent rendering of Admissions decisions. Evaluates and/or signs off on applications for transfer and graduate admission.
  • Manages campus recruitment events, campus visit programs, and regional outreach efforts and/or manages staff overseeing these programs.
  • Tracks and processes international student applications following all SEVIS guidelines and protocols, including issuing I-20s and updating SEVIS records at registration and graduation.
  • Assists in enrollment management strategy related to forecasting, search campaigns, and scholarship leveraging.
  • Collaborates within admissions to create an effective communication/conversion strategy for prospective students across assigned populations.
  • Collaborates with the Dean for Enrollment Management and Data and Admissions Operations Specialist on technology enhancements that increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manages an application pool and informs prospective students and applicants of NDNU's program offerings and admissions process. Represents and/or oversees the representation of the University to prospective students, families, and community members. Communicate with prospective students within assigned territories regarding admissions status, campus visits, scheduled events, financial aid, etc., and document notes of these communications.
  • Within assigned territory or program, selects and visits schools to meet with prospective students while enhancing the visibility of NDNU (Norte Dame de Namur University) amongst community colleges and universities. Appropriately documents and reports on college visits and recruitment fairs.
  • Manages social media presence for admitted students to drive conversions.
  • Assumes assigned management and leadership duties and other duties assigned by the Dean for Enrollment Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred
  • Approximately 5 years of progressive responsibility within Admissions or Enrollment Management
  • Comfortable becoming a program subject matter expert
  • Comfortable learning and using innovative technology
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable utilizing databases and running reports from databases
  • Attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, and analytical abilities
  • Exemplary focus, participation, and commitment to the goals of the department
  • Willingness and flexibility working some weekends and evenings
