Job Overview
This Director reports to the VP of Product Management and Strategy, is a part of the Strategy and Business Development team of five professionals and has a regular and extensive visibility with the Business Unit Senior Leadership Team.
This person can be based in Europe or North America. They would be expected to travel approximately 30% of the time to meet stakeholders, participate in team meetings, attend industry conferences or events, etc.
The Director will be a thought leader and trusted advisor to the ICT Global Leadership Team, working closely with them as well as with TE's M&A organization, customers, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive BU's inorganic growth and develop and lead Business Development initiatives and programs. The Director will play a pivotal role in achieving the BU's growth, margin expansion, and KPI objectives.
This Director will be responsible for:
  • Advise the senior leadership team on selecting the most attractive opportunities and acquisition targets to strengthen product portfolio and go-to-market capabilities
  • Interacting with external stakeholders (customers, partners, management of acquisition targets, etc.) and internal stakeholders (sales, product management, engineering, operations, finance, etc.) to identify, conceive, develop, and champion revenue and margin growth opportunities by developing value propositions, positioning the product/portfolio, setting strategic goals and initiatives, and conducting targeted promotions.
  • Identification of new current and future profit-pools through a deep understanding of customers, competitors, partners, and the broader ecosystem
  • Advising on path of action
  • Aligning key stakeholders and driving a governance process to facilitate execution.

Key Responsibilities
Be a steward of Portfolio Business Development and trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Advise the senior leadership team on selecting the most attractive acquisition targets to create value (e.g. strengthen product portfolio, go-to-market capabilities, client base, etc)
  • Champion organizational focus on most attractive opportunities.
  • Engage with external stakeholders (customers, partners, regulators, etc.) and internal stakeholders (sales, product management, engineering, operations, finance, etc.) to identify, conceive, develop, and champion inorganic growth opportunities that expand Total Addressable Markets, Serviceable Addressable Markets and margins.
  • Identify new current and future profit-pools through a deep understanding of customers, competitors, partners, and the broader ecosystem.

Drive and lead BU's inorganic growth through the full M&A cycle
  • Map and assess potential inorganic growth opportunities
  • Generate a pipeline of potential acquisition targets
  • Initiate, cultivate, and manage relationships with potential targets at the appropriate management level
  • Create, champion and get buy-in for acquisition business cases
  • Partner with ICT management to set priority targets and timeline
  • Partner with ICT management and TE's M&A team to plan, initiate and run due diligence processes

Drive and lead full integration cycle
  • Create, champion and get buy-in for robust integration plans
  • Drive and monitor integration, pro-actively adjusting plans and escalating issues as necessary
  • Ensure value creation by achieving financial, commercial, operational and strategic goals.

Strengthen ICT's Business Development Capabilities
  • Contribute to development, retention, and acquisition of strategy and Business Development talent
  • Contribute to Business Development and integration institutional expertise, skills, rigor and continuous development across ICT's organization
  • Foster a diverse, inclusive environment with an emphasis on internal talent development and mobility, in alignment with core business objectives

What your background should look like:
  • Expertise and experience in Business Development and M&A, ideally across the full acquisition lifecycle. This experience may have been gained in investment banking, M&A consulting, corporate Business Development or private equity.
  • Experience in leading integration of acquired companies.
  • An entrepreneurial, high-energy, self-motivate individual, with vision, business sense, enthusiasm, and integrity
  • Understanding of the industrial transportation industry is a plus
  • International experience is a plus but is not required

  • Ability to look at Business Development and M&A from a strategic point of view, aligned with broader business and strategic goals.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $173,60 - $260,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
