Director Global Trade Compliance, Business Processes - Sap Gts

The Opportunity

You will oversee the development and continuous improvement of the Global Trade ComplianceBusiness Processes, internal controls, and global automation strategy. You will improve cost savings, efficiency throughout the processes involving Trade Compliance requirements, enhance compliance and support Business Process continuous improvement. You will develop an automation strategy following CSL IT Strategies infrastructure and roadmap.

The position is responsible for mapping out and/or developing all Business processes, TC internals controls and Systems, important projects across departments and ensure Trade Compliance requirements are well represented and documented.

You will also partner directly with the CSL strategic departments, teams, and functional area leaders to lead efficiency, process improvements, and improve duty spend, and cost savings.

You will partner with the BPO organization and IT to develop IT projects for Trade Compliance. You will oversee all CSL Trade Compliance IT projects globally and across businesses. You will work across function and develop a structured engagement to ensure BPs are identified and facilitate solutions to integrate Trade Compliance internal controls and develop regular review, platforms, or committees.

You will also assess outsourcing options, manage projects, and assess IT capabilities, including the global customs brokerage bid.  You will partner with CSL Business Management, Regional Trade compliance teams, to

deliver all departmental goals ensuring compliance, supporting growth, efficiency and maximizing costs savings.

The Role

1.       Develop and implement a Global Trade compliance BP and internal controls program globally and across businesses: map out processes, assess internal controls effectiveness and develop plans to ensure compliance following CSL Policies and ensuring efficiency. 

2.       Develop a GTC automation roadmap strategy following the IT infrastructure and Strategy and ensure standardization of tools and systems across the GTC function. Map out all systems, assess IT solutions and automation (including AI), build business case, budget projection. Connect across Global Trade functions to use knowledge and solutions created by other teams. 

3.       Improve GTC KPIs, Trade reporting, duty spend and duty savings globally, continuous improvement and lead efficiency throughout the import and export processes. 

4.       Lead Global customs broker bid: reporting and IT capacity, KPIs, SOPs, contract, performance, and selection. 

5.       Lead all GTC IT projects and partner with Supply Chain and other responsibilities in identifying relevant BP and integrating TC internal controls, developing structured engagement and committees across departments (OTC, procure to pay and others), this includes master data requirements. 

6.       Develop with the GTC team risk assessment and audits tools. 

7.       Support Government and internal audits. 

8.       Lead teams of consultants and IT Digital teams to deliver TC projects.

Your Skills and Experience

       A bachelor's degree is required; master's degree in related field or equivalent is preferred

       10 years of progressively responsible experience in a regulated, multi-location environment, with cross-functional experience preferred.

       Experience managing complex Customs and trade Operations.

       Knowledge of CSL Business processes and TC possible effects.

       Understanding of supply chain operations and Trade Compliance implications.

       Experienced in planning large IT projects.

       Experienced in assessing IT solutions, and last trends, and developing roadmaps.

       Excellent skills in organization, prioritization, and negotiation.

       Able to work well on your own in producing results.

       Proficient in: CSL IT Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint with the ability to develop skills with other programs.

       Understands Quality systems and importance of systems, culture and behavior to organizations.

       IT projects management skills.

       Clear understanding of CSL's operating model and culture.

      Able to influence senior leaders and peer groups.

       Comfort around senior management.

       Experience understanding industry trends and changes to practice standards so CSL remains an industry leader.

       Experience in negotiation with influencing skills.

       Displays a level of engagement at all levels of the organization and does not only operate at a corporate level.

       Understands complex problems and need to collaborate to explore alternative solutions.

       Make decisions which have an impact on the immediate department and monitor impact outside immediate department.

       Travel, both nationally and internationally required up to 20% of the time.
