The Director, Global Commercial Strategy, Dermatology will be responsible for shaping Global Commercial development strategies for pipeline products. The primary focus of this role is to develop and refine overall dermatology portfolio strategy and launch an asset that is currently in Ph3 clinical studies. Key responsibilities include defining commercial and launch strategy, ensuring region and cross-functional alignment, managing a team that will provide insightful market analyses, go-to-market planning/strategies, communications, and launch campaign. This position reports to the Senior Director, Global Commercial Strategy for ImmunoDermatology.

Key Responsibilities:

The Director, Global Commercial Strategy, Dermatology will be responsible for several areas including but not limited to:

Advancing and Shaping Our Pipeline:

  • Lead early asset development efforts for ImmunoDermatology, understanding the market opportunities that exist in key prioritized diseases, including Atopic Dermatitis and Psoriasis. An understanding of the secondary diseases will also be important. These include, but are not limited to, Hidradenitis Suppurativa and Alopecia Areata.
  • Lead the global team effort for insight generation and business case development for future potential indications in Dermatology.
  • Partner with R&D and Regulatory to bring commercial insight, develop/strengthen Target Product Profiles (TPPs), and implement the broader vision for Janssen’s leadership in dermatology.
  • Adopt a patient centric view to the treatment of immunodermatology today and in the future.

Lead Cross-Functional Partnerships to Optimize Launch: Partner with the Compound Development Team (CDT) to provide commercial guidance into the global regulatory and clinical development plans to ensure early stage assets are highly differentiated with a strong evidence-based value proposition.

Strategic and Innovative Market Development:

  • Coordinate with Janssen business regions to develop and implement well-coordinated commercial strategies, tactics, and messaging which embed insights from patients, health care providers, and market access stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs to ensure robust publication plans and enduring/differentiating data generation.
  • Liaise with Market Access in development of value propositions to support/bolster reimbursement and approvals globally.
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners (Analytics, Finance, Competitive Intelligence, etc.) to develop differentiating value proposition and commercial forecast valuation models.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate should be an agile teammate who is able to lead and participate on cross-functional teams, gain alignment and drive decision making with regional commercial colleagues on the Commercial Strategy and tactical plans. This individual will have the ability to understand, interpret and communicate commercial and competitive implications of complex technical/clinical/regulatory data. This individual must have an understanding of clinical data and the ability to interact with R&D colleagues on scientific issues. This individual must demonstrate strong leadership presence through influencing without authority with high-level management, detailed orientation, and excellent strategic thinking.

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Postgraduate qualification, PhD, MBA, or other graduate degree is strongly preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years demonstrated in-line marketing, market access, marketing support, or sales management/training experience implementing marketing strategy is required.

Preferred:

  • Immunology experience is preferred

Other:

  • An ability to manage multiple demands and priorities on time, lead teams, gain alignment and driving decision making is required.
  • Senior brand responsibility, alliance management experience, people management, product launch, experience in working with global teams and a strong understanding of pharmaceutical development is preferred.
  • Strong executive, verbal and written communication skills are required, along with demonstrated presentation skills.
  • This position is based in Horsham, PA will require up to 25% domestic and international travel.
